Like most men on the Southern Charm cast, Whitney Sudler-Smith has yet to settle down. However, at BravoCon 2025, this current part-time star and former full-time producer updated fans on his current status. And right after, his mother, Patricia Altschul, had a few notes to add.
Whitney Sudler-Smith has an “on and off” love life
Last Sunday, Whitney, Patricia, and the entire cast of Southern Charm appeared on the “It’s All About to Go South” panel at BravoCon. Here, the host asked Whitney, “What is your love life looking like these days? And are you closer to settling down?”
Now, we all know his mom wants a grandbaby, who she will likely dress in matching caftans. So this is a question that she likely loved hearing. Knowing this, Whitney picked up his mic and sarcastically replied, “Thank you so much for asking.” Cue all the laughter from the audience and his cast.
As Whitney then explained, he is in “an on-and-off thing with a girl in Europe.” But at his side, Patricia looked unconvinced. After Whitney lightly called her out, he said that “At some point, [he and his mystery partner] might tie the knot.” Or “Maybe not, I don’t know. We’ll see how it goes.”
Overall, “it’s a work in progress,” Whitney concluded. Jumping in for the save, Austen Kroll added, “I think Whitney’s closer than we think.” But as Patricia quipped, “I’ll believe it when I see it,” causing their audience to break into yet another round of laughter and applause.
Progress must take a long time. During Season 9, Patricia stressed, “I want Whitney to have a family. He’s an only child, and it just seems like life is slipping away.” Time is indeed rapidly moving forward, as Southern Charm Season 11 premieres tomorrow night on Bravo.
