Andy Cohen is certainly emotionally invested in his Bravolebrities. And Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula arguably are an integral part of Summer House. They announced their split on January 19, after months of speculation that they were living seperately. They were married for four years.
Now, Bravo’s executive producer is reacting to the news. Besides the emotional response, there is certainly another aspect to consider. And that is how will Summer House be as a reality TV show now that its starring couple is no more. Above all though, Andy wanted to wish both parties all the best.
The Summer House stars called it quits after four years of marriage
“I am sure that was a difficult decision,” Andy said on the January 20 episode of Watch What Happens Live. “But we are proud of you two for choosing what is best for you, because, to paraphrase a certain someone, marriage should be fun.”
He added, “We wish you both the very, very best.”
Amanda and Kyle’s decision to end their marriage doesn’t come as a surprise to all. She didn’t like his endless partying. Meanwhile, the Loverboy founder decided to branch off into DJing as a side hustle. On the Season 10 sneak peek, Amanda revealed her concern after Kyle spent the night on a fan’s couch. They squabbled over major life decisions, such as where to settle down and whether or not to start a family.
On January 19, the duo issued a joint statement to Instagram Stories. They wrote, “After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple. We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”
“It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter,” they concluded.
Catch the Season 10 premiere of Summer House Tuesday, February 3 at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
