Melissa Gorga recently reunited with Caroline Manzo. She has some time on her hands, since Real Housewives of New Jersey remains stuck in a deep freeze on Bravo. But her recent run-in with this blast-from-the-past family wasn’t planned. Instead, it was all just a rather happy coincidence in The Garden State.
Melissa Gorga said she “always loved the Manzos”
Melissa recently appeared on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. While there, she revealed that she “just saw” Caroline and her daughter, Lauren Manzo, around town at a “local restaurant.” Making their reunion all the sweeter, it wasn’t a planned meeting of the minds. Instead, their run-in was just a fun, unexpected plot twist for each of their days.
“They just happened to be there, and we just happened to be there,” Melissa explained. As she added, she and husband, Joe Gorga, experienced a total “blast from the past” feeling when their paths all collided. After all, these families haven’t filmed together since 2013. As a reminder, Caroline left RHONJ after Season 5, which was likely five seasons too many for Caroline.
Now, Caroline stays busy with her grown children and her grandbabies. As for Lauren, in 2023, she and her husband, Vito Scalia, parted ways. They remain on friendly terms for the sake of their daughter, but Vito has always presented as a member of this family. So Melissa’s next big reveal still tracks.
“It was so funny, she was actually eating dinner with Lauren’s ex-husband’s new fiancée,” Melissa said, noting, “I was like, ‘Wow, see. This would be interesting.’” But overall, “It was nice to see them. I always loved the Manzos,” Melissa ended.
