The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga is showing support for her daughter, Antonia Gorga, after she opened up about a recent cosmetic procedure.
After wanting a nose job for years, Antonia recently decided to go for it. She later said doctors discovered a deviated septum, which helped explain some of the asymmetry she had noticed.
While plenty of reality stars stay quiet about cosmetic procedures, Antonia took the opposite approach and put everything out in the open. And, Melissa couldn’t be prouder of how her daughter handled it.
Antonia Gorga shares her cosmetic surgery story
Melissa recently opened up to Us Weekly about 20-year-old Antonia’s surgery and praised her daughter for being so transparent about the experience.
She admitted her mini-me, Antonia, is handling cosmetic surgery very differently than she did. Although Melissa has since spoken openly about getting a rhinoplasty and breast augmentation, she kept those procedures private for years. She has also been candid about using Botox and fillers.
Melissa explained, “She’s showing everybody her journey, which I did not do, you know. I totally denied it.”
She continued, “I was like, ‘Oh, my God, no, I don’t even want to discuss this.’ And half the reason was because my daughter had my nose, so it was like, I never want to say I’m going to change myself, you know? So I mean, crazy, she’s so strong.”
Antonia first revealed the surgery in a June 10 Instagram video. She lip-synched, “Girl don’t do it, it’s not worth it,” before cutting to a clip of herself post-surgery with a bandaged nose, mouthing, “I did it.”
She captioned the post, “Surprise… #nosejob…”
Melissa quickly showed her support in the comments, writing, “Oh my God! My baby is being open and honest…”
The next day, Antonia shared more about why she decided to move forward with surgery.
“I got a rhinoplasty!!! This is something I’ve wanted to do for such a long time, and I’m so happy I finally decided to go through with it,” she wrote.
She added, “I never wanted a nose that looked completely different. I just wanted a refined version that still felt like me.”
Antonia has since posted several post-op updates to share her progress.
