Last month, a video surfaced showing Alexa Curtin, the youngest daughter of Real Housewives of Orange County alum Lynne Curtin, living on the streets and struggling with a drug addiction. She was missing teeth and two fingers, wandering around in the streets of Lancaster.
Sadly, things haven’t improved since that last update. Alexa is still struggling with her addiction. She’s also still experiencing homelessness, and she just blasted her parents for putting her on reality TV in the first place.
Alexa Curtin tries not to think of her reality TV past
Alexa was a teenager when her mom starred on RHOC. She’s now 33, and in a heartbreaking conversation with Daily Mail, she explained why her Bravo days aren’t a pleasant topic to discuss.
“I don’t really talk about it anymore, honestly,” Alexa admitted. “I don’t even try to think about it.”
According to Alexa, Bravo portrayed her family on RHOC in a “really bad way” and showed a distorted truth of what their lives were really like. She said what viewers saw on Bravo didn’t reflect reality, and that felt harmful during her vulnerable teenage years.
She explained, “It was really difficult for me because all my friends in school were watching it and sh*t and that was f*cking hard. They weren’t too nice to me. They weren’t welcoming to me.”
“I just felt really isolated,” she continued. “And I think that’s what made me turn to the drug use and stuff.”
These days, Alexa is also feeling isolated from her parents. She doesn’t have a relationship with either of them and is struggling to find hope for her future.
“I don’t even have parents anymore,” Alexa said. “I’m on the streets.”
With nowhere to turn, Alexa said she’s “miserable” and is losing her will to live. We’re hopeful that by going public with her story, a loved one may be inspired to intervene.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is streaming on Peacock.
