Vanderpump Rules alum Dayna Kathan recently shared that she is a lesbian. Dayna was a major character in Season 8 of Pump Rules. While she is no longer affiliated with Bravo, she does host a podcast, Disrespectfully, with former VPR star Katie Maloney.

Dayna made her big announcement via an Instagram post. In the carousel, she was wearing a black tank with the word “gay” on it. She was casual and cool as she sat on some steps with friends. Other snaps included her celebrating Pride and enjoying the festivities with friends. “Shout out to my fellow late in life lesbians!! HAPPY PRIDE!!!” Dayna captioned her post.
Naturally, her Pump Rules family weighed in to share their love. Ariana Madix commented, “Ilysm!!!!!!” with heart emojis. Meanwhile, Scheana Shay wrote, “Ilyyyyyyyy” with the Pride flag emoji. And Katie commented, “My favorite lesbian! I love you so much!!!!” Finally, The Valley star Jasmine Goode wrote, “Happy pride babe.”
During her time on Pump Rules, Dayna came out as bisexual and shared a moving moment with co-star Ariana, who is also bisexual. However, Dayna revealed in an Instagram Story from June 10 that she struggled to reach this point in her life.
“My journey with queerness wasn’t linear and at times very scary and confusing,” Dayna wrote. “I had to unpack A LOT of sh*t to get to this point. All of this to say, if you aren’t out and struggling – take your time. You will get there. and it’s pretty fab on the other side.”
It seems that Dayna doesn’t miss her time on Pump Rules. When she filmed some scenes for Season 11, she suffered a panic attack. “I filmed a tiny bit. So, I don’t know if what I filmed will make it,” Dayna explained at the time, adding, “I had a full-blown screaming, crying panic attack, and I didn’t realize.”
