Angelina Jolie’s daughter details ‘almost kindred’ relationship she shares with actor

During a recent heartfelt speech, Angelina Jolie’s daughter, Zahara, expressed deep gratitude for her upbringing. She admitted that describing their connection is not always easy. “My mom and I have a unique, almost kindred relationship that can be hard to put into words,” she shared. “Our love for each other is a sound one.”

Adopted at six months old, Zahara grew up in a busy household with several siblings. She credited her mother for creating a home built on strong principles. She noted that she was raised by a mom who taught her the “value of helping others, being kind, and always striving for growth as people.” These lessons have stayed with her as she navigates her own path in adulthood.

Watching her mother’s tireless work around the world left a lasting impression. Zahara described the actress as a “role model” who showed her what it looks like “to be a decent human being.” She further praised her mother’s character, calling her “the most selfless, loving, and understanding woman who I get to call my mom.”

Even as she builds her own legacy at Spelman College and within the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, she remains close to her family. She noted that her mom is always “curious about all that I am learning” and asks many questions about her college experience.

Zahara’s mother’s influence is also visible in her career goals. Currently majoring in psychology, she hopes to work in mentorship. “I am a strong woman because a strong woman raised me,” she said, finishing her tribute with a simple thank you to the woman who guided her. Through mirroring her mother’s compassion, she now finds joy in being a “smiling face” for others.
