Chris Pratt famously played Andy Dwyer opposite Plaza’s April Ludgate on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” and had nothing but love for Audrey Plaza when the host asked him to address her pregnancy news. And so, Pratt told E! News’ Will Marfuggi, “She’s going to do great,” adding, “She’s going to be a fantastic mother,” noting that “She’s a very caring person.”
Pratt and Plaza’s on-screen romance on the show became one of its most anticipated plotlines, with their characters getting married in season three — and behind the scenes, their friendship has reportedly been strong over the years. Now, both of them have moved on to major film careers. Still, Pratt took time to acknowledge and praise his former co-star, stating, “It’s gonna be an amazing chapter for her,” and adding, “We’re all very excited for her.”
Plaza first addressed the pregnancy publicly during an appearance on the “Smartless” podcast on April 13, joking about her ultrasound — and since then, she has stepped out at several events proudly showing her baby bump, including starring on The View and Late Night with Seth Meyers.
As for Pratt, fatherhood has long been a central part of his life. He shares a 13-year-old son, Jack, with ex-wife Anna Faris, as well as daughters Lyla and Eloise with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger. During his appearance at the Beverage Forum, he spoke about setting an example for his kids when it comes to health and discipline.
