King Charles just finished his major trip to the United States, but he did not make time for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and now experts claim that it was because the royal family has totally lost trust in the Sussexes.
Even though the king was right in Harry’s new backyard, everyone noticed that the two did not meet. As it turns out, former royal editor Duncan Larcombe suggests that Charles is in an “impossible position.” He is reportedly terrified that any private discussion with his son will be leaked to the media.

Duncan Larcombe exclusively told The Mirror that the royal family reportedly does not trust Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. He claimed that King Charles “is in an impossible position right now.”
The former royal editor added, “He and Prince William can’t reach out to Harry for fear of him then publicising it,” calling it “the big blockage.” The palace is allegedly worried that if they try to fix the relationship, Harry and Markle will drop more “bombshells” about the royal family.
This massive breakdown in trust has reportedly been building for years. Things have been tense since the 2021 Oprah interview. It got even worse when Harry released his memoir, “Spare,” in 2023.
Royal expert Richard Palmer maintained that the palace is always looking over its shoulder. He claimed, “There’s always a general worry that Harry or Meghan are going to say something that will embarrass the King and Queen.”
Politics made a reunion even less likely during this specific trip, since Donald Trump has allegedly never been a fan of the Sussexes. Palmer explained that including Harry and Markle in the state visit was supposedly never an option.
The situation is reportedly very upsetting for the king, who was once “thrilled” to spend time with his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet. While there was some hope for a fix during the late queen’s Platinum Jubilee, it has now allegedly faded.
Right now, it seems the “broken” trust has created a wall that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can’t climb, leaving the royal family rift as wide as ever.
