There appeared to be a lot of tension at the In The City premiere this week. Among those on hand for the event were Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula. There seemed to be a lot of awkwardness when the two were seen together, and it looked like a moment neither really wanted.
That would be understood by fans of Summer House. Kyle and Amanda were in a relationship for close to a decade. In January, they announced they had separated after four years of marriage.

Being in uncomfortable positions can sometimes happen, as any reality star can tell you. We saw plenty of that between Kyle and Amanda Monday. The two are out promoting the Summer House spinoff. That show begins as we say goodbye to Season 10 of Summer House. Kyle and Amanda posed together for photos, but didn’t seem all that friendly, without even a hug or handshake. While Kyle had his arm around her for the picture taking, there was little to no eye contact between the two. When the photographers were done, Amanda went off, leaving Kyle to pose for a few more pics.
In the months since their breakup, there seems to be a lot of bad blood and unresolved issues between the two. Their split was said to be amicable, though the energy the two exuded on camera this week seemed to tell a different story. After the promotional event, Kyle said that he was just happy Amanda came. He wasn’t certain she would.
According to Kyle, Amanda didn’t want to come to the big In The City event, but he convinced her to. He fired back at haters for questioning the two posing together and having her on hand, telling them to grow up. The former couple celebrated the upcoming series alongside Lindsay Hubbard and more co-stars.
Since their separation, there’s been plenty of uneasiness, by the sounds of it, between Amanda and Kyle behind the camera. In February, Amanda reportedly talked to a Summer House producer about the cheating rumors surrounding Kyle.
The series premiere of In The City will stream on Peacock beginning today.
