Brynn Whitfield joined The Real Housewives of New York City after the reboot for Season 14. However, after just two seasons, she made the decision to leave. Now she’s opening up about the reason she decided to bid the show farewell and why she fell out of love with being a Housewife.
The former RHONY star says it was time to move on
Brynn appeared on Casual Chaos with Gia Giudice. Gia told her that fans were unhappy she wouldn’t be part of the upcoming Season 16. She asked the RHONY alum if she regrets her decision to leave.
“Walking away from it, I did it definitely with a heavy heart,” Brynn answered. She shared that there were so many aspects of being on RHONY that she enjoyed. However, she also added that when “something’s no longer fun,” she’s “out immediately.”
She explained that it started to “feel icky during filming.” Brynn revealed she once removed her microphone pack and fled to London, only to receive a call demanding she return to film the season. She explained that she was “kicking and screaming the whole season.”
Brynn explained that filming Season 15 of RHONY was not a great experience despite having fun during her premiere season. The sophomore season, though, was another story.
“The entire time filming Season 15, it was miserable,” Brynn said. “It was just pulling teeth, and I felt I was just like ‘this is gonna bomb.’” She also admitted to having conversations with co-stars and reminding them, “You gotta bring it,” while they felt the season was going well.
In the end, Brynn has no regrets. There are certain things she may not have shared on camera if she had to do it again, but hindsight is 20/20. It’s not unreasonable what she said. The reboot of RHONY didn’t really win over all the OG fans. While some are sad Brynn will be missing in the upcoming season, many are glad she left.
One fan on X said, “She’s the one who made it icky by trying to engineer fake fights and lying to Ubah (Hassan).” While another said, “Didn’t she start some BS and get caught in a lie?”
The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock.
