Prince Harry‘s U.K. visit may not have gone as expected. A new report claims the Duke of Sussex was left hurt after Meghan Markle allegedly changed plans for the family’s return to Britain. Instead of arriving together with their children, Harry is said to have made the trip alone. According to insiders, the last-minute change left him feeling isolated during what was already expected to be a difficult visit.
Source says Prince Harry felt isolated after Meghan’s reported U-turn
It is understood that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had initially planned to travel to Britain together with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, those plans reportedly changed after it was confirmed the family would not receive taxpayer-funded police protection. As a result, Harry traveled to London alone on July 6, while Markle and the children delayed their arrival.
Although Markle and the children later joined Harry in Britain, one insider claimed the earlier change of plans had already taken an emotional toll on the Duke. “Harry’s heartbroken and is feeling more alone and isolated than ever,” the insider told Closer. According to the source, Harry had been anxious about returning to the U.K. Having Markle and the children by his side was allegedly the one thing that reassured him. The insider also claimed Archie and Lilibet would have helped ease the pressure surrounding the visit.
Instead, the altered plans allegedly left Harry feeling blindsided. “He’s feeling incredibly betrayed by Meghan’s sudden U-turn,” the source claimed. Per the insider, Markle had recently begun making several important decisions without consulting Harry. Those decisions allegedly included pulling out of joint charity commitments and changing family plans on her own.
As a result, Harry was apparently left confused about where things stood. The insider further alleged he felt increasingly excluded from decisions that affected both their family and public life. “He’s in a state of panic about what she’s planning next,” the source added.
