Cohen is allegedly drawing a clear line between his romance and the Real Housewives franchise. RadarOnline reported August 3 that sources claimed he does not want Sobieski pulled into the show’s spotlight.
One insider alleged that Cohen knows how quickly a public relationship can become everyone else’s conversation. According to the source, introducing a boyfriend to the Housewives world could invite questions, opinions and unwanted scrutiny.
Another source claimed Cohen enjoys the cast but recognizes that reality television often rewards behavior that would cause problems away from the cameras. “Andy isn’t hiding Kevin. He’s protecting him,” the insider alleged.
The report fits what Cohen has already shared about Sobieski. After he confirmed that he had found the right partner, Cohen described their relationship as slow, deliberate, and surprisingly easy.
Cohen also revealed one detail that may explain the alleged boundary. He said Sobieski is “so lowkey” and “doesn’t watch the Housewives,” according to Bravo’s Daily Dish. That distance could make it easier for the couple to keep franchise drama from following them home.
The pair first sparked romance chatter after they were photographed holding hands following a New York dinner. Cohen later spoke openly about their relationship and said Sobieski had developed a loving bond with his children, Ben and Lucy.
More recently, Cohen joked about their 16-year age difference during Watch What Happens Live. He did not appear interested in hiding the romance, but he has controlled how much of it becomes public.
For now, RadarOnline has based its claim on unnamed sources. However, Cohen’s own description of Sobieski as private and disconnected from Real Housewives makes the alleged strategy sound plausible.
