Amanda Batula’s new romance reportedly threatened to create fresh drama before In the City even received a second-season renewal. Insiders claimed her relationship with fellow Bravo star West Wilson could complicate friendships if cameras returned.
The couple reportedly remained happy together despite lingering tension within their shared reality television circle. That fallout appeared unlikely to disappear anytime soon.
Amanda’s In the City castmates reportedly are not eager to welcome West
According to Us Weekly, Amanda’s romance with West could have created awkward dynamics if In the City returned for Season 2.
“There is still some tension surrounding West,” an insider told the outlet. “If Amanda returns for a second season of the show, the cast would not be particularly welcoming toward him.”
The source claimed Amanda’s castmates remained loyal to Ciara Miller and Kyle Cooke following the relationship fallout.
“They aren’t friends with him in real life. They don’t like him because of what happened with Ciara,” the insider explained. “They have no interest in befriending him, even for Amanda.”
Bravo had not officially renewed the series. Production reportedly would not have started until fall if the network ordered another season.
Amanda filmed Season 1 shortly after wrapping Summer House Season 10. She and estranged husband Kyle announced their separation in January after four years of marriage. Amanda and West confirmed their casual relationship two months later while denying any overlap with her marriage.
West previously dated Amanda’s close friend, Ciara, who later admitted the romance surprised her. Kyle also struggled with the relationship.
In a previous interview with People, Kyle admitted, “Sometimes it doesn’t feel real until I see them together. I considered West a really good friend, and this is just not something I can fathom doing to anybody that’s close to me.”
Amanda later confirmed during the In the City reunion that she still dated West.
Another insider claimed Amanda “may not be on the show next season” and said most cast members still weren’t speaking with the couple. However, Amanda and Kyle reportedly remained cordial and continued showing each other respect.
The source added Amanda felt happier after separating from Kyle. She also hoped to repair damaged friendships while continuing her relationship with West. Although they had not said they were in love, the insider claimed they “really like each other” and were simply enjoying dating. Pregnancy rumors also proved false, though Amanda reportedly saw children with West as a future possibility.
