Porsha Williams is leaving the door open for one familiar Atlanta face. With NeNe Leakes back in the Bravo fold for a milestone Housewives event, talk about another comeback is getting harder to ignore. Porsha is not making any promises about what comes next. Still, she has made her own preference clear as fans revisit NeNe’s complicated history with the network.
Porsha is hopeful NeNe could rejoin RHOA after returning to Bravo for RHUGT
Porsha told Us Weekly at the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip 20th Anniversary Event on Aug. 4 that she would welcome NeNe back to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. “We’re very hopeful,” she said. Porsha added, “Me personally, yes, I would love for NeNe to come back.”
The reunion already carries extra weight because RHUGT: Roaring 20th marks NeNe’s first Bravo appearance since leaving RHOA after Season 12. In a preview, Porsha called her “the queen herself” and said Atlanta had been missing the energy NeNe brought to the franchise.
Porsha has made a similar point before. Earlier this year, she reflected on filming RHOA without NeNe and Kenya Moore, saying the longtime stars helped make the show feel like “our house.”
NeNe’s return once seemed far less likely. In 2022, she sued Bravo, NBCUniversal, Andy Cohen and others, alleging racial discrimination and a hostile work environment. The lawsuit was mutually dismissed without prejudice later that year, meaning a court did not decide the allegations on their merits.
The relationship has since softened publicly. Andy said in May that the lawsuit was “in the past” and described working with NeNe again as “very positive.” He also called her “integral” to RHOA’s success, though he stopped short of promising another peach. NeNe later addressed her post-lawsuit relationship with Andy as her Bravo return moved forward.
NeNe has also signaled that she is willing to listen. She previously said, “If they called, I would answer,” while explaining that she and the network had put many of their past issues behind them.
Porsha and NeNe have had their own rocky moments, including a public clash over a proposed TV appearance. Their recent reunion, however, suggests that their relationship has also entered a different chapter. For now, Porsha’s support adds fuel to the comeback chatter. Bravo has not announced NeNe for a future RHOA season, making her RHUGT appearance the only confirmed return so far.
