Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta showed Kenya Moore’s early exit. It was unexpected. After showing explicit photos, allegedly of RHOA co-star Brit Eady, Kenya was suspended. Now, during RHOA Season 17, Porsha Williams is the veteran peach-holder. Recently, she addressed what it is like filming without Kenya and legend NeNe Leakes. It’s a whole new world for Porsha, who joined the show in Season 5, along with Kenya.
Porsha says: “I never would have foreseen Kenya not being here…”
While fans are definitely enjoying a lighter Season 17, Porsha is the glue holding this cast together. During an interview with Carlos King for his podcast, Reality with the King, Porsha was asked what it felt like to be the peach with the longest tenure.
“Because I never would have foreseen NeNe not being here. I never would have foreseen Kenya not being here,” Porsha stated. “Kandi [Burruss], I never would have foreseen it because we were such a sisterhood.”
She continued, “And outside of a family, we were the business of Bravo, and I just knew that we would always be doing this together. You don’t see an end to it.” Porsha added, “We owned it. It was our house.”
In fact, Porsha hoped that she was a good guardian of RHOA’s legacy and “a good keeper of the house.” As for Kenya’s suspension and exit, Porsha still has feelings about it. “When it comes to Kenya, having to leave, it did hurt me. It did,” she explained. “Because I thought we were able to just meet each other in a different space.”
Meanwhile, Porsha always knew that she was destined for greatness. After referring to herself as a “loner” in her early seasons, she added, “I knew that I was bigger than my circumstances. I just knew I would be successful.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams the next day on Peacock.
