Gizelle Bryant Proved She’s the Ultimate Pot Stirrer on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip — Opinion

Bravo has blessed us with the premiere of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th, kicking off a journey that will deliver over 80 appearances from our favorite Housewives. But one woman has already left her mark, and that’s the word on the street: Gizelle Bryant.

Of course, the OG of The Real Housewives of Potomac has caught hell for the better part of a decade for wreaking havoc among her castmates. On RHUGT, she’s leaning into it fully, but her brand of instigation isn’t a flaw. It’s a skill, and she just gave us all a masterclass.

This season of RHUGT is all about paying tribute to 20 years of Housewives excellence. So far, we’ve gotten a dozen throwback clips, a NeNe Leakes cameo, and callbacks to some of the biggest moments in franchise history. They literally tried to put Vicki Gunvalson in a family van.

But we didn’t come here just for nostalgia. We came for the mess, and Gizelle fully understood the assignment. In the premiere, the ladies ventured to Orange County for an 80s-themed bunco party at The Quiet Woman. It was literally all fun and games, but Gizelle had her eyes elsewhere.

As soon as she found herself alone with Real Housewives of Orange County stars Shannon Beador and Tamra Judge, she poured gas on their already volatile friendship with the subtlety of a bull in a china shop.

“Do y’all hate each other?” Gizelle point-blank asked.

It was up from there. Shannon and Tamra erupted into a massive argument that spilled all the way into RHOC Season 20. Give Gizelle a producer credit and a pat on the back. This was seamless work.

And as if that wasn’t enough pot stirring for one day, she carried a bone back to Tamra about something Vicki said earlier in the day. Thanks to Gizelle, the Tres Amigas were back in disarray before the bunco cards were even put away.

The pot stirrer is the unsung hero of Real Housewives, and Gizelle knows it

We could spend hours watch the Housewives do absolutely nothing but stare at each other. But these shows would be nothing without someone willing to crank up the heat. Gizelle knows it.

The RHOP OG kicked off this season saying she was ready to embrace her inner “mean girl,” and she delivered on that promise. She didn’t have to manufacturer a storyline or raise her voice. She just recognized where there was tension and gave them a little push. Even Tamra, who was on the receiving end of it, can respect the hustle.

“Gizelle is a pro! She knows exactly when it’s time to get to work and always delivers,” Tamra gushed on X, formerly Twitter, following the premiere. “I’d love to film with her again one day! #RHUGT.”

We’d love to see it, too.

The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th continues on Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
