Reportedly, Luke is diagnosed with ARFID and PANDAS, and the TV personality is unsure how to proceed.
Emily Simpson says she’s still searching for answers as son Luke continues treatment for PANDAS and ARFID
The reality TV star told Us that she is in a difficult spot with her son’s treatment and is questioning her decisions. “I don’t know if Luke’s any better. We’re still dealing with a lot of the same issues, and we’ve tried a couple of things,” she told Us on Aug 14 while promoting the 20th season of RHOC. She added, “I don’t know if they’re working, and that’s hard for me as a mom because I want to fix everything.”
During the Season 19 premiere, Simpson revealed that her 11-year-old son was diagnosed with avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). Luke was later also diagnosed with PANDAS – a group of autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with strep throat.
“I go back and forth between continuing and trying to find different therapies for him,” Emily explained to Us. “Sometimes, I think Luke is Luke. Maybe he doesn’t need therapy or IVIG treatment. Maybe he just needs to be Luke. It’s hard to know if I’m doing the right thing. I often wonder if I’m making the right choices for him.”
Meanwhile, she is drawing huge support from fans and concerned moms who have also been in the same situation.
Emily wrote via Instagram in July 2025. “Thank you for the information and support you are all sending my way! Please keep it coming. And please talk to your children about being kind to kids who might be a little different.”
