Where did all the vibes go this week on Winter House? In the last episode, the group partied hard and said goodbye to Tom as he ventured back to Los Angeles for the Vanderpump Rules Season 10 reunion. Somehow, Tom took all the fun with him when he left because this episode felt like a drag. There were a lot of moments that didn’t bring the normal party atmosphere we expect from this show. Kory, Danielle, and Brian all said they wanted to get the energy back up, but that never really happened. From pregnancy scares to visiting parents, this week felt like it was buzzkill after buzzkill. Here’s the lowdown on what went down on Winter House Season 3, Episode 7: “Parental Advisory.”

Frozen in the friendzone

Whether they like it or not, everyone in the house is dealing with some variation of being in the friendzone. That’s a buzzkill in itself. First, let’s talk about Katie and Tom.

With Tom out of the picture for a bit, Katie was finally able to sit in her feelings about their relationship. They finally made out, but what’s next? Katie really doesn’t want to be in the friendzone with Tom, but Tom has been hard to read. Even though they’re existing in a grey area, Katie made it clear that she wouldn’t lose her mind over his absence. Because of her career in yachting, she’s used to a revolving door of people coming in and out of her life. Tom isn’t anything new, but we’ll see what happens when he comes back from LA.

Then, there’s Danielle and Alex. Danielle has been slowly spiraling out of control because she’s falling for Alex who doesn’t want anything serious. At one point this week, she asked him if he wanted to come to visit her in Brooklyn after they leave Colorado. It was a hard pass from Alex. He just wants to be in the friendzone, but Danielle isn’t taking the hint. He finally realized that it might be time to dial back on his relationship with Danielle before she seriously gets her feelings hurt. It might be too late for that, though.

Last but certainly not least, also right in that friendzone fracas are Casey and Brian. The two have them have been playing a weird, flirtatious cat-and-mouse game all season. This week, Casey finally admitted that she might have a slight crush on Brian, even though it might seem like she rejected him. Casey explained that in her world, being in the friendzone is actually a good sign! It’s the first step to a relationship for her. So, there might be some hope for a little spark between these two, but they’re moving at a glacial pace. We’ll be on Winter House Season 6 by the time one of them makes a real move.

Times up for Jason

Remember how Jason randomly showed up a few episodes ago? Well, this week he left Season 3 just as quickly as he came. Despite having a cast photo and being announced as a regular cast member for Season 3, his time on the show came to an abrupt end.

Someone, please explain. What was the point of Jason even coming and being in the cast photo if he was just going to pop in for a couple of days and barely have any screen time? Even Kyle said his time in the house felt like a flash in the pan.

Before Jason left, he did provide us with the gift of Gizelle Bryant from The Real Housewives of Potomac. The two of them have been “dating” for months, and he hopped on a FaceTime to chat with Gizelle about his time in the house.

Although Gizelle’s cameo was brief, Real Housewives make any show better, and it was pretty funny watching her and Jason interact. Do they have the chemistry of two lovers? Absolutely not. Still, it was fun to watch them converse, even if their romance is more of a showmance.

What is she doing here?

For some reason, Malia had the bright idea to invite her Below Deck Mediterranean co-star Captain Sandy Yawn to Steamboat Springs for a day of skiing. This might have been the biggest buzzkill of the whole episode. After several, wild days of nonstop partying, what sounds more than fun inviting your sober boss to come hang out? You can’t even have a vape pen around her without worrying she’s going to call the cops.

Seriously, Captain Sandy is the last person anyone wants to see on Winter House. Winter should be fun, and Captain Sandy is the antithesis of fun. Regardless, they all had to hustle out to the mountain to meet up with Captain Sandy and her partner, Leah Shafer, for a day of skiing. Everyone, thank Malia for this.

When the group got to the mountain, you may have been surprised to learn that Sandy is an avid skier. On the slopes, She kept up with the rest of the powerheads like Kyle and Casey. Leah was more interested in the bunny slopes and après-ski.

Thankfully, Captain Sandy’s Winter House cameo was brief. She never actually went to the house. She skied, she gossiped, and then she left after giving Katie some advice on staying out of the friendzone. Just go back to the high seas, Captain.

A pregnancy scare

Amanda has been complaining about being sick since the moment she walked in the door. Remember how she missed the first handful of episodes because she had norovirus? Well, she’s still complaining about being nauseous and having stomach issues, so it finally dawned on her that maybe something else could be happening. With her daily spells of nausea, both Kyle and Amanda thought, “What if we’re pregnant?”

As soon as the topic of a potential pregnancy came up, you could see Kyle slowly start to panic. His breathing got heavy, his face got red, and his mullet tensed up. Is a baby really what they want or need right now? Amanda noted that they are married and financially stable, so it’s not like having a baby would be the worst thing ever. But, what happens to your Summer House career if you have a baby?

Amanda decided to take a pregnancy test, which might be a Winter House first. The test came back negative, so there’s no Baby Cooke on the way right now. However, the pregnancy scare did make Amanda and Kyle start to seriously think about family planning. Perhaps a baby could be in their future?

Keeping up with the Keefers

This week, Kory welcomed two very special guests into the Winter House: his parents! He also invited his situationship, Sam Fehrer to come to the house, but he timed it so that his parents and Sam won’t be there at the same time. Smart guy.

When Kory’s parents arrived, we immediately got a sense of why Kory is the way he is. His mom showed up ready to drink and go straight to après-ski. Kory’s dad wanted to immediately hit the slopes for some shredding. Kory is truly both of them, and it felt kind of sweet to see this different side of him.

During the visit from Kory’s parents, Kory’s relationship status was top of mind for everyone. What is going on with Sam? Kory’s dad straight up asked him, “Have you been talking to girls?”

Kory told his dad that he hasn’t been talking to girls this season because he is wholly focused on Sam. She might be the one, but he’s scared of letting his personal life overshadow his professional life. On the other hand, his dad advised him not to focus so much on business or he might miss his chance with Sam. There’s a balance. Kory needs to find it ASAP because Sam can’t be in a situationship forever.

Danielle’s sprial continues

Over the last few episodes, we’ve watched Danielle slowly fall into a spiral of jealousy because of her situation with Alex. She wanted to have some Winter House fun, they slept together, and now, she can’t let go. Any time Alex talks to another girl, whether it’s a random woman from Steamboat Springs or one of the Winter House castmates, Danielle is somewhere in the corner upset about it. Now, that negative energy has started to permeate into Danielle’s other relationships in the house.

Toward the end of the episode, she had a bizarre sitdown with Jordan where she accused her of “pulling away” from their friendship. From a viewer’s perspective, we all know that she’s trying to poke at Jordan because she’s insecure about the friendship she has with Alex. Jordan handled it like a pro and spoke her truth. She didn’t let Danielle incite her.

Since Jordan didn’t give Danielle the fight she was clearly looking for, she went on to terrorize Brian. The poor guy was excited to show off some clothes his mom bought him, and Danielle started throwing them around and saying, “Who cares?”

And, in case there was any doubt that Danielle’s unhinged behavior was 100% linked to Alex, her argument with Brian said it all. The two of them went back and forth about her behavior, and in the middle of the conversation, Danielle paused and asked, “Do you think Alex likes me?”

That is unhinged, and Danielle’s tantrum might have been the biggest buzzkill of all this week. If the situation with Alex is causing her this much stress, then Danielle needs to take a huge step back and stop inviting him into her bed. That should be pretty easy since they literally just met, but we’ll see where Danielle ends up next week.

The drama continues on Winter House, Tuesday nights on Bravo at 9/8c.
