The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 has been worth the wait. These Mormon mom influencers are sharing their often tumultuous personal lives, as well as chronicling the cracks within MomTok. It is a lot. The new season has gifted viewers with relationship drama, as well as life-changing events. Much of the drama again involves Taylor Frankie Paul, the creator of MomTok. She revealed the soft-swinging scandal to the world, instantly creating rifts within the group.
While none of the current MomTok members were involved in the swinging, Taylor’s former bestie, Miranda McWhorter, took part. And she entered the chat in Season 2, trying to decide if she had a place in MomTok again. Plus, Taylor and her baby daddy, Dakota Mortensen, struggled to hold their relationship together for their son, Ever.
Meanwhile, Jen Affleck navigated a separation from her husband, Zac Affleck, and issues with some MomTok members. And Demi Engemann made a power grab, trying to cut Taylor out of MomTok for good and seize the crown.
So, amid all this wild drama, let’s look at who emerged as the winners and losers of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2.
Layla Taylor – Winner

Layla Taylor may be the youngest member of MomTok, but she has grown up since Season 1. This divorced mom of two developed her confidence this season. She roared into Season 2, showing off her boob job and her new boyfriend, Cameron. While Layla was firmly on Demi’s side about Jen’s shady behavior, she eventually began to realize that she didn’t have to listen to Demi. Case in point – when Layla showed Taylor a group chat where Demi and some of the other cast members were bashing Taylor.
Layla admitted to being afraid of Demi, but she decided to finally get to the bottom of some rumors about Vanderpump Villa. Some of the cast members went to stay at Castello Rosato in Italy. While there, Demi was being friendly with a server, Marciano Brunette. So, Layla had him come to Utah to find out the truth about Italy. And boy, did she get more than she bargained for!
Whitney Leavitt – Loser

During Season 1, Whitney Leavitt left MomTok. She even blew off her bestie, Mayci Neeley, at her business launch party. However, Whitney reconsidered her options and decided that she wanted to return to MomTok.
She started to attend parties and events, hoping to get the green light to rejoin. But there was a lot of resentment in the group towards Whitney. During Season 1, she didn’t trust Taylor after she implicated the MomTok group in the swinging scandal. So, she tried to take over Taylor’s place. When that didn’t work, she exited the group chat and blocked MomTok members.
During Season 2, Whitney gave birth to her third child, son Billy, with her husband Connor Leavitt. She invited the ladies to her baby shower, but only Taylor, Jen, Miranda, and Mayci attended. Whitney ended up cozying up to Jen and Miranda, who were also on the outskirts of the group. Eventually, after Taylor created an online firestorm with her post about the Country Music Awards (CMAs), Whitney and Demi united against Taylor.
Finally, at the momentous MomTok meeting during the Season 2 finale, everyone voted Whitney back in, except for Mikayla Matthews. However, once Whitney was back in, her concern for Demi evaporated. Whitney was the villain last season, and she kept those low-key villain vibes flowing.
Mikayla Matthews – Winner
Mikayla was one of my favorites this season. Not only was she vulnerable and brave to share her history of sexual abuse, but she also showed her therapy sessions and how she was healing from the trauma. During The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2, this saint decided to speak her mind. And she did not hold back. From dissing everyone’s culinary creations during the Great Mormon Bake Off to some shady confessional comments, Mikayla was on fire.
After being burned by Whitney, Mikayla was vocal about not wanting any type of relationship with her. So, when Whitney asked to speak with her, Mikayla gave it to her straight. “If I wanna make videos about you, I can do that, cause you’re not my friend,” she told Whitney.
In addition, Mikayla also celebrated her pregnancy, preparing to welcome her fourth child with hubby Jace Terry. And in an emotional moment, she supported her best friend, Mayci, driving her to visit the car crash site where Mayci’s boyfriend, and the father of her eldest child, perished. That is a true friendship.
Jen Affleck – Neither a winner nor a loser

It was difficult to see Jen struggling this season. When Season 2 started, Jen was separated from Zac. She also claimed that she was isolated from her MomTok friends, an accusation that many in the group denied.
In an attempt to save their marriage, Zac deferred going to medical school in Arizona, and the couple tried to work on their relationship. When Jessi Ngatikaura had a Halloween party, she and Demi planned a Chippendales prank for Jen. When Jessi and Demi’s husband, along with a real Chippendales dancer, danced on Jen, both she and Zac were upset. However, Demi had given Jen a heads up, and she was fine with the concept.
Then, Jen discovered that she was pregnant. With a struggling marriage and feeling isolated from MomTok, Jen’s mental health began to suffer. “So, I’m sad for this child because I don’t even know where my marriage is at,” Jen said in a confessional. “And so, I think, in this moment, I’ve kind of come to my breaking point.”
During Episode 6, Jen stopped filming. “Out of respect for Jen’s privacy, production has made the decision to stop filming with her at this time so she can focus on her mental health,” an onscreen message read. I am glad that Jen focused on her mental health and her pregnancy during this tough time.
Mayci Neeley – Winner

Mayci was killing it in her personal and professional life. She secretly underwent IVF and became pregnant. And she fulfilled her lifelong dream of writing a book to help other women.
Mayci became pregnant with her first child when she was in college. While texting with her boyfriend, Arik Mack, he was involved in a car crash and died. During Season 2, Mayci visited Arik’s parents with her husband, Jacob Neeley, and their children. She shared that she still grieves for Arik. Sadly, Mayci and Arik were arguing during their last text conversation, so Mayci has carried that regret and guilt for years.
With Mikayla’s support, she brought a letter and flowers for Arik to the crash site, and Mikayla said a prayer. It was such a moving moment. Mayci truly embraces the spirit of MomTok, which is women supporting women and being a true sisterhood.
Miranda McWhorter – Neither a winner nor a loser

Miranda was back on the scene and caused a stir immediately. She and her ex-husband, Chase McWhorter, were involved in swinging with Taylor and her ex-husband, Tate Paul. And Miranda and Taylor were best friends.
At first, Miranda denied Taylor’s claims to the cast, saying that she was only involved in kissing. Eventually, Miranda and Taylor sat down, and Taylor listed all the lusty activities that the ladies were involved in. That included having sex in the same bed with their husbands and having sex in the shower with their husbands. “I mean, Taylor’s not wrong,” Miranda finally admitted in her confessional. She wished that she hadn’t denied everything and left Taylor alone to field all the negativity.
During The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2, Miranda was a support for Jen and tried to find her way back into MomTok. By the end of the season, she wasn’t sure that she wanted to be part of the group again. Meanwhile, MomTok decided to hold off on voting Miranda back in.
Taylor Frankie Paul – Winner

Taylor was once again open and vulnerable this season. She tried to work on her low self-esteem in therapy, but was unable to forgive Dakota for lying and cheating on her early in their relationship. Eventually, Dakota issued Taylor an ultimatum, and she decided to end their relationship because they were too toxic together.
However, all was not well between Taylor and Demi. Taylor felt that Demi couldn’t be trusted and was greedy. She tried to force her bestie, Jessi, off the show so that she could get paid more. Taylor also felt that Demi thought she was better than everyone else.
Meanwhile, Taylor presented an award at the CMAs. When the MomTok group didn’t comment on Taylor’s social media post, she called them all out. Was she being petty? Yes, and Taylor knew it. She later apologized to the group, but Demi refused to accept it. This led Demi to try and convince the group that Taylor was ruining MomTok’s image and all their businesses.
During the MomTok meeting, when no one sided with Demi to oust Taylor, Demi announced she was taking a break from MomTok. In the end, most of the messy drama is somehow connected to Taylor. Amen!
Demi Engemann – Loser
Demi was, without a doubt, the villain of Season 2. We learned that this sinner allegedly sent a cease-and-desist to Jen regarding what happened in Italy. Fans were shocked that Demi was fine with Jessi being booted from the show if it meant a bigger contract for her. Plus, she also told Taylor not to go to Jessi’s hair salon. Of course, Jessi was hurt because Demi was her bestie. How could she do Jessi dirty like that?
When Mayci held a dinner to announce her book deal, all of the ladies were thrilled except for Demi, who looked annoyed. It seems that Demi doesn’t like it when others get opportunities, which goes against what MomTok stands for. And she also admitted that she should get the best brand deals because she was “a fan favorite” during Season 1.
At Demi’s Christmas party, after she had uninvited Taylor, Taylor’s mom, Liann, dropped off a gift. And Demi went off on her, yelling and swearing. It horrified the rest of the cast, except for Whitney, who was backing her up.
In the end, Demi was stunned that no one sided with her to exile Taylor from the group. You know, the one that Taylor started. It was a nasty feud, but Demi’s selfish behavior and inflated ego finally caught up with her.
Jessi Ngatikaura – Winner

Jessi and Demi seemed to have a solid friendship. But when money was involved, their friendship faltered. Demi didn’t mind Jessi leaving the show if it meant more cash for her. And when Jessi learned that Demi was bad-mouthing her business, she was hurt. Finally, she realized that she needed to take a step away from Demi. Plus, Jessi underwent thyroid surgery, and thankfully, the growth that was removed was benign.
However, Jessi enjoys stirring the pot, and she did that by inviting Taylor, Dakota, Miranda, and her ex-husband, Chase, to her Halloween party. It was nightmare fuel from the jump. The police were called because Chase and Demi’s husband, Bret Engemann, almost got in a physical altercation.
But the big shock of the season came when Layla spoke to Marciano about Italy. Earlier, Jessi referenced a rumor that she was making out with Marciano at TomTom. She claimed that they were just hanging out.
However, Marciano claimed that they hooked up and were having an affair. If that is true, then that also makes Jessi a liar. Consider my pearls clutched. Bring on Season 3!
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is available to stream on Hulu. The show streams on Disney+ in the UK.
