The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 trailer
Netflix premiered the first trailer for The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 back in May. The Netflix dating show promises a lot of drama in the trailer alone. The trailer also shows that this season of The Ultimatum: Queer Love takes place in Miami.
For those who didn’t tune into Season 1, or need a refresher, the trailer explains how The Ultimatum: Queer Love dating experiment works. Six couples signed up because one of them wants to get married, while the other party is uncertain. The cast gets a chance to date the other cast members for a week. Then, they choose someone to be in a trial marriage with for three weeks. After that is done, they enter a trial marriage with their original partner for three weeks.
As you’d expect, and as the trailer shows, things get messy. The trailer shows lots of tears and potential regrets. Some of the cast members wonder if they’ve fallen in love with someone other than their partner.
The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 cast

The Ultimatum Season 2 cast consists of six couples. In each couple, one person wants to take the next step, while their partner is hesitant. Hence why the first person gave the ultimatum.
The couple that’s been together the longest are Hailey and Pilar, who have been dating for ten years. Food scientist Hailey is ready to get married after a decade, but physical therapist Pilar thinks marriage is a “pointless ‘social construct.'”
Meanwhile, former radio personality AJ is hesitant to wed because she feels she comes second to partner Britney’s business.
Kyle and Brittany, who both use she/they pronouns, have completely different views on marriage. For Kyle, it’s a non-negotiable. Bridget admits they don’t see the point, but they still want to spend forever with Kyle.
Mel and Marie have known each other since before Marie came out. But while Marie is ready to wed, the life/business partners are already super busy with their burgeoning food truck business. Mel also says, “I feel there’s a few things we need to get in order first.”
Dayna and Magan have been together for one and a half years, the shortest amount of time of all six couples. Magan is hesitant to wed Dayna for a number of reasons. Including that her family hasn’t accepted her queerness yet.
Finally, 30-year-old Ashley issued an ultimatum to girlfriend Marita because she’s “getting tired of her inconsistency in our relationship, along with the fact that she never chooses me and seeks feelings elsewhere with other people.” On the flip side, Marita wants Ashley to make romance a priority before considering walking down the aisle. The 25-year-old says, “I am not ready to settle for anything less than what I know I deserve.”
How will their journeys compare to what happened to The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 1 cast? We’ll have to watch to find out.
Meanwhile, you can learn much more about each The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 cast member, including where to follow them on Instagram, on Netflix’s Tudum site.
Who is hosting The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2?

The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 host is JoAnna Garcia Swisher. She returns to Season 2 after hosting the first season. JoAnna is an actress best known for shows like Reba and Sweet Magnolias. JoAnna herself is not queer. And some Season 1 viewers took issue with her hosting because of that.
JoAnna explained why she’s so passionate about hosting this show. She told Netflix’s Tudum, “I loved the idea of hosting a show, but when it was an opportunity to help tell this story of celebrating queer love, I thought, ‘Yes, this is the right moment’ and I just jumped in with two feet.” The Gossip Girl actress continued, “We cannot ignore the importance of celebrating queer relationships. There are incredible complexities and nuances to them that should be respected, but in many ways, they’re exactly the same as a non-queer relationship. We all deserve our happy ending — whatever that looks like.”
The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 premieres June 25 on Netflix.
