Next Gen NYC star Riley Burruss is living her best life. She recently graduated from NYU and is taking some time off to figure out next steps. And while this time includes reflection, it also includes partying. She is in her early 20s after all. When her mom, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kandi Burruss, found out how much Riley had spent one night out at the club, she wondered if Riley had “too much money to burn.” The answer was probably yes.

During Episode 5, Kandi had come to visit Riley and reminded her she had six months left to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. Kandi said, “We said six months. We said at the top of the year, you were supposed to get a job or something.” No pressure.
Kandi was hopeful for law school, but Riley had a different career in mind. She wanted to be a DJ. Kandi almost fell over in her seat. She told Riley, “When you were growing up, we always had this plan: You’re gonna be a lawyer one day.”
For now, the plan was on hold. Riley was practicing her DJ skills and hanging out with her friends. And her new bestie, Ariana Biermann, was one of them. When she joined Riley and Kandi at the table, Riley dished that she might have spent a little too much money the other night at the club.
Riley explained that their on-again-off-again friend, Charlie Zakkour, had brought a bunch of girls to the table and drank everything without paying. This left Riley to foot the bill. Which was a staggering $14,000.
They assured Kandi the bill was split, but this didn’t make her feel any better. So, she gave Riley some motherly advice.
Kandi said, “It better not be on the card I pay for. Oh man, you got too much money to burn. You really need to figure out your finances, honey.”
