Brad Pitt has reportedly been wanting to depose his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie’s company, Nouvel LLC, in their legal case involving the estate and vineyard. As reported by The U.S. Sun, the sale of the French winery and estate Miraval, co-owned by the former couple, is at the center of the legal battle between Jolie and Pitt. In the court documents, the “F1” actor reportedly claimed that Angelina Jolie was alright with a third-party sale of the estate several years back, in March 2021.
Brad Pitt allegedly wants Angelina Jolie’s company to be deposed over secret negotiation claims
Brad Pitt is allegedly wishing to depose ex-wife Angelina Jolie’s company, Nouvel LLC, due to her alleged secret third-party negotiation regarding the sale of Miraval. Per The U.S. Sun, Pitt’s lawyer wrote, “On March 30, 2021, a lawyer for Stoli Group contacted Jolie’s California-based divorce lawyer.” The attorney continued, “To inquire whether she would be interested in selling her stake in Miraval, Brad alleged in one recent filing.”
Brad Pitt also alleged that he and his team thought they had been negotiating with Angelina Jolie. It was by way of the estate to buy her 50 per cent company stake. However, in the meantime, the “Maria” actor was allegedly negotiating with Stoli “in secret.” The “Troy” actor also claimed that Jolie’s “transactional counsel even provided ‘detailed feedback’ to Stoli and its negotiators.” The actor further reportedly added that it was “regarding what it would take for Stoli to beat Pitt’s offer.”
Brad Pitt also stated, “Stoli and Jolie had arrived at a ballpark price of $65 million for the deal.” It was reportedly by the end of May 2021. The document continued that it was a price that Jolie kept a secret from Pitt. It further stated, “which, in the wake of the private judge’s ruling finding Jolie not credible.” “She never gave him the opportunity to match,” it added.
The ex-couple bought the Miraval estate back in 2011 for an approximate $60 million.
