In case you missed it, Erika Jayne debuted a new man this month, John “Shrek” McPhee, also known as the “Sheriff of Baghdad.” At first glance, you wouldn’t think he’d be a match with a star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but it turns out they have something big in common. They’re both on the heels of messy divorces, and details about their finances are going public because of it.

Of course, Erika has been in an ongoing divorce from Tom Girardi since 2020. It remains in limbo as Tom prepares to spend the next seven years in prison. According to a report from Daily Mail, Erika’s new boyfriend is also going through a divorce. While there’s no fraud trial involved, it’s still pretty messy.
Court documents show that John just filed for divorce from his wife, Jennifer Blanton, in February 2025 after a decade of marriage. This isn’t his first time divorcing, as he’s said in interviews that he’s been divorced “several times.” For this particular wife, he listed their date of separation as September 2023.
Jennifer filed a counterclaim, where she demanded spousal support and argued for a bigger cut of their marital assets. As we previously shared, John is a celebrity bodyguard, and one of his most notable clients is Heidi Montag. He also runs a business selling tactical gear and making content under the Sheriff of Baghdad brand. In Jennifer’s filing, she estimated that he brings in at least $17,000 per month.
On top of that monthly income, he also gets money from the government because he’s a retired military personnel. With all things considered, Jennifer argued in court that she makes half of his salary as an employee of the Department of Defense and a realtor. Therefore, she’s hoping to get a cut of his earnings.
Just like Erika’s, John’s divorce is still pending. They both have hearings later this summer. John’s hearing will address the spousal support request, but Erika could have her divorce dismissed altogether after months of inaction from both sides.
Erika is also currently filming RHOBH Season 15, so there’s a chance we’ll meet John on Bravo when the show returns. In the meantime, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for updates on this blossoming Beverly Hills romance.
