The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum was undergoing immunotherapy. The treatment either shrank, or eradicated the tumors found in her brain and lungs. Teddi got the melanoma diagnosis in 2022. And it had metastasized at in early 2025. Though those tumors are responding very well to immunotherapy. But Teddi found a suspicious mole recently.
Teddi Mellencamp implores people to keep getting their skin checked
Teddi revealed the discouraging update during the August 19 episode of her Two T’s in a Pod podcast. Dolores Catania joined her for a frank discussion about keeping up with doc appointments. No matter what medical issue is taking priority.
“This is a reminder that even if you have lung cancer, brain cancer, whatever, you still need to continue to get your skin checked, because yesterday I went to get a skin check and I had an abnormal spot,” Teddi said. “They removed it, they’re sending it in to get checked and make sure it’s nothing.”
She continued, “The good news for me — what I’m telling myself — means it’s okay, it’s in a new spot. All of my original melanomas were on my back and this new spot is on my stomach. I just wanted to remind you guys because I hadn’t gone in about six months for a particular skin check.”
The accountability coach implored her followers to keep going for routine doctor visits, no matter how seemingly mundane.
“You’re like, ‘Oh I’m getting checked,’ but no, you gotta remember, go get your skin checks even if you’re in treatment for something else,” the RHOBH alum explained. “There’s specialty doctors that do specialty things. So I’m really glad I went yesterday, because now we’re on top of it, and it’s gonna alleviate some stress.”
Teddi maintains a positive outlook. She shares all aspects of her cancer journey on social media and has taken an active role in promoting public awareness. Recently she told viewers that immunotherapy has been giving her anxiety.
