Panelists on The View won’t refrain from speaking their minds regardless of what it does to their show.
After days without any comments on ABC’s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel, Whoopi Goldberg spoke out about the action taken against him. The Academy Award-winning actress says they were waiting to see if Jimmy would have a response. That is why nothing was mentioned about it on their shows last week.
On Monday, though, Whoopi sent a clear statement to fans and the network saying, “I mean, have you watched the show over the last 29 seasons? You know, no one silences us.”
Jimmy’s suspension came after sharing his opinion on the Charlie Kirk shooting death, with the network taking his late-night talk show off the air as a result.

ABC’s actions towards Jimmy haven’t discouraged the women on The View from speaking their minds. That is what the daytime show is all about, and that won’t change according to the hosts.
“For me, I want to start by thanking our loyal viewers for demanding truth and courage from us. You deserve it and we will give it to you,“ said Whoopi. She and one of Monday’s co-hosts, Ana Navarro, denounced the President, calling his government “bullies” for not allowing others, like Jimmy, to exercise their First Amendment rights. That amendment, among other things, guarantees freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
The chair of the FCC, which regulates programs across the U.S., Brendan Carr, praised the suspension of Jimmy and said it might be “worthwhile” to look into The View. The show’s former panelist Rosie O’Donnell, predicted in August that The View may go off the air for political reasons.
There were reports in the past that “chaos” was unfolding behind the scenes of the show, although all of that has been denied.
