Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak is getting more backlash than ever after her daughter Ariana Biermann’s shocking TikTok revelation. Next Gen NYC star Ariana hasn’t shied away from sharing the difficulties in her relationship with her mom. In the show’s first season, Ariana revealed that Kim took the money she and sister Brielle Biermann made through social media. She’s also been very open about the negative impact Kim and Kroy Biermann’s tumultuous relationship has on her younger siblings.
Still, Ariana maintained that her mom is her best friend. Aside from Next Gen NYC co-star and fellow Real Housewives of Atlanta kid Riley Burruss, that is. However, their relationship may be impacted by Ariana’s TikTok, because the 23 year old didn’t hold back. And Bravo fans are appalled by what she shared about Kim.
Ariana Biermann’s shocking TikTok about mom Kim Zolciak
On Tuesday October 7, Ariana posted a video on TikTok captioned “the time my freckles disappeared.” The Next Gen NYC fan favorite explained why she always puts fake freckles on when she does her makeup. It all stems back to a decision her mom made for her.
While applying makeup, Ariana said that every she puts on fake freckles, she thinks about how she wouldn’t have to if her mother didn’t get “rid of my freckles when I was 14!” According to Ariana, Kim told her she was going to get a facial. She never said anything to Ariana to indicate this facial would include lasering her freckles off.
Then the person doing the facial said Kim told her Ariana hated her freckles and wanted them off. Ariana was shocked by this, because she actually loved having freckles. “I didn’t want them removed,” Ariana emphasized multiple times.
Despite the laser treatment, Ariana still has some on one side of her face. But, “Now I add them on to my face because I don’t have them anymore, because somebody removed them.” She continued, “I’m constantly stamping them on, trying to make them look even just remotely like what mine looked like growing up.” She sadly added, “I miss my freckles.”
Ariana also said she recently talked about this with Kim over the phone, and that her mom laughed about it. Addressing Kim, Ariana ended the video by saying, “Mom, you’re a jackass for that.” She added, “I love you, but … insane.”
Why Bravo fans are outraged by Ariana’s revelation about Kim
In Ariana’s TikTok comments section, multiple people said that the Next Gen NYC breakout star should write a memoir about what she’s been through. Others said she should go no contact with Kim. One commenter wrote how sorry they were that Kim “forced such toxic ‘beauty’ standards” on her daughters from such a young age.
Similar comments were made when Bravo fan accounts like Bye Wig Hello Drama reposted Ariana’s TikTok. “This is abuse plain and simple,” wrote yourbishtherapist. Another person commented, “The way she tells this story so nonchalantly as if this is normal is so sad.” Commenters also wondered why an esthetician would agree to laser off a 14 year old’s freckles. Especially since, as Ariana emphasized in her video, she didn’t want them removed.
The BravoRealHousewives Reddit was also horrified by Ariana’s story. OP @lizziexo wrote that “Kim laughing about it when it’s brought up now is so cruel.” Redditors also praised Ariana for growing into such a well-adjusted and empathetic adult despite her chaotic childhood.
We’ll have to see how Ariana and Kim respond to the intense backlash over this revelation. Their contentious dynamic was a part of Next Gen NYC Season 1, as Ariana’s boyfriend Hudson McLeroy advised her to put up stricter boundaries with her mom. Surely, the mother and daughter will also continue to unpack their relationship on the second season of Next Gen NYC.
