Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.
Things took a dramatic turn at the courthouse during Aaron Phypers and Denise Richards‘ hearing. The exes have spent days in court as the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum fights to get her temporary restraining order made permanent.
On Friday, October 17 after the fourth day of hearings, Aaron tried to exit the courtroom but was arrested by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies. The shocking turn of events left his legal team stunned.
Aaron Phypers was all smiles after leaving jail on Friday
According to multiple reports, the cops arrested Aaron on an outstanding warrant related to Denise’s previous claims of domestic abuse. He was held on a $200,000 bond. Despite his well-documented financial struggles, he was able to make bail just a few hours after being taken into custody. TMZ shared a picture of him posing with his bail bondwoman. He was grinning like he didn’t have a care in the world.
Throughout the court proceedings, Denise detailed multiple instances of abuse. She alleged that there were times when she feared for her life. Aaron’s cousin backed up those claims, saying that she witnessed his violent outbursts while working at his wellness center.
Aaron has denied all of the claims of abuse. After bailing out of jail, his spokesperson released a statement to Us Weekly accusing Denise of making false accusations.
The statement read, “We have not seen the criminal complaint, but we believe that it is most likely based upon some of the same false accusations that Denise Richards has brought against Mr. Phypers in the family law domestic violence proceeding, which she claims occurred nearly four years ago. If so, we expect that the evidence will demonstrate Mr. Phypers’ innocence and that he will be acquitted.”
A decision has not been made regarding the temporary restraining order. The judge requested another hearing, and the exes will be back in court on November 7.
