Below Deck Med’s Aesha Scott Reveals’ Invisible’ Rule of Working With Guests

Aesha Scott has comfortably stepped in the role of chief stew. Both on Below Deck Down Under, and now Below Deck Mediterranean. Fans adore her, as well as her co-workers. The New Zealand native is good at her job. And has a lot of compassion for the rest of her crew to boot. So it makes sense why she dealt with a recent charter guest in the way that she did.

Of course, Below Deck is all about the five star service. But this is reality TV, so it’s also about the over-demanding guests. And how Aesha managed the recent situation on Season 10, Episode 4, is nothing short of genius.

Aesha Scott opens up about the “invisible print” on guest requests

“We always say that we never say no. That we are seven-star service, and whatever you want, we will provide for you,” Aesha told producers in a confessional. “But, what they don’t tell you, is the invisible print right at the bottom says, ‘Within reason.’”

After putting in a 20-hour work day, and cooking an eight-course meal, Chef Josh Bingham was called upon to cook “a little Sichuan chicken” by returning primary guest Jack Freeman. Luckily, Aesha had served Jack previously on Below Deck Down Under. She brilliantly suggested that, given the early morning hour, Jack should “think of something that would only take like 10 minutes” to prepare.

“So no, I’m sorry, I’ve gotta protect my chef,” the Bravolebrity explained. “He has been up for 20 hours, and he does need some sleep.”

Jack settled for “melted shaved parmesan” fries “with truffles.” The order never made it to his lips. As soon as he was served he decided that he was “not even hungry anymore.”

Aesha should be commended for managing a tough situation and protecting the chef. She added, “I was just like, ‘This man is not staying up.’”

The incident is reminiscent of Below Deck Med Season 9, when Chef Johnathan Shillingford refused to make a midnight snack for the guests. He also cited fatigue amidst incredibly long work hours, and Aesha was sympathetic. She’s an absolute gem in the industry.
