However, fans say the footage seemed “nauseating” and the Duke of Sussex appeared “uncomfortable.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s video fails to impress users online
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s video on the latter’s Instagram story didn’t sit well with the fans. Netizens criticized the “Suits” alum for allegedly forcing her excitement on her husband. The clip featured the couple and the former actress’s friend, Kelly McKee Zajfen, watching the game in the Sussexes’ home theater.
It captured the moment when the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series on Saturday night. Harry was calmly sitting on a recliner chair, not showing a massive reaction. Meanwhile, Markle and her friend appeared ecstatic, screeching at the top of their voice. The 44-year-old further appeared in the camera’s vision, approaching her husband. She was hopping and jumping in excitement.
Wearing a black outfit, Markle came towards Harry to hug him. As she held him to share a kiss, the “Spare” author slowly responded. While he remained seated, his wife and Zajfen were jumping and hugging each other. One of them squealed, “Oh my God,” followed by the father of two chuckling at his spouse’s antics.
Meanwhile, the black-and-white video failed to impress users online. On X [formerly Twitter], netizens accused Markle of being fake.
One viewer wrote, “Nothing says ‘authentic’ like setting up a camera and jumping into the shot.” Another referred to the clip as “nauseating,” featuring “cringe and contrivance” content. They called the mother of two “narcissistic,” while stating that “Harry looks desolate and despondent.”
A few more users remarked that the 41-year-old seemed “unhappy and uncomfortable.” One individual also commented, “Whoa, he is not into it.” However, not everyone had the same thoughts. Some cheered the couple, saying, “Harry, happy wife happy life,” and that the two have been “living their best life.”
