Rumors are swirling about the future of The Real Housewives of New York, and once again, Julia Fox is right in the middle of it. For years, fans have pitched the actress, model, and certified “it” girl as an apple holder, and it turns out the opportunity has crossed her mind. It also crossed her desk.
Julia Fox “did think about” joining the Real Housewives of New York City cast

The chatter about Julia potentially joining RHONY has been happening since 2022. As soon as Bravo pulled the plug on the OG cast, Julia’s name came up in the casting conversations. In a new interview with Us Weekly, Julia admitted that she did seriously consider it.
“I did think about it. I’m going to be honest. But I love that show so much and I know that if I went on it, it would ruin it for me,” Julia explained. “I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it anymore. And it’s one of those things where, as much as I want to do it, I have to preserve and protect the things I love and that give me life.”
According to Julia, producers contacted her for an interview, back when they were struggling to cast the since-paused RHONY reboot. However, Julia doesn’t feel like she’d make a good Housewife, despite what the internet thinks.
“To be honest, I want my Housewives delusional, detached from reality, and completely unrelatable,” Julia continued. “And I know that maybe some people might think that I’m those things, but I promise you I’m not.”
She continued, “I just don’t know if I’m Housewife material. That’s a really tall order. These women are one-of-a-kind. Do you know what I mean? The Housewives I grew up with are literally on the same level of importance as my own mother.”
You’ve got to appreciate her honesty, right? Julia went on to theorize that the RHONY reboot wasn’t successful because it felt “too relatable.” Now, we’re all holding out hope that Bravo can clean up the RHONY mess, and Julia said she prefers watching it all from the sidelines like the rest of us.
“I want to see women fighting about things that I wouldn’t even imagine fighting over, because I would never even have those things or be in that predicament or have these rich people problems. That’s what I want from my Housewives, and I just don’t know if I’d be able to deliver,” she explained.
“And, ultimately, I don’t want to let down the Bravoverse. They are very cutthroat. I don’t want to let them down. I don’t want to ruin something good for me that I love, that gives me life and makes me happy.”
The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock, or Hayu in Canada, the UK and Ireland.
