Big Brother 21 Finale Recap: Controversy Clouds The Night

Perhaps it’s fitting that this season of Big Brother ended the way it started: With controversy. Even Nicole (America’s Favorite Player y’all!) had asked for things to come full-circle during tonight’s Finale Episode at one point, and boy did they ever. But a terribly mismanaged Finale ended up sucking all the wind out of what is normally a celebratory and fun finish to everybody’s favorite Summertime guilty pleasure.

Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. If you are not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments since the last recap, so if you need to go further back please click on the “Big Brother” Topic on this page to access past recaps…also, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap, but is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Big Brother 21 Week 12 Recap: The Final Three Are Set…Who Will Win Big Brother 21?

It’s no cliché to say that people go crazy and make irrational decisions inside the Big Brother House…it’s a fact. From the comfort of our couches at home, it’s easy to pass judgment on the decisions that the house guests make or don’t make over the course of the Summer, as they have no contact whatsoever with the outside world. When you’re living in the Big Brother House, up can sometimes appear to be down, and right can disguise itself as left. That’s exactly what happened this past week on Big Brother, as we near towards the Season 21 Finale next Wednesday night, now less than one week away.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. Big Brother 21 Week 11 Recap: The Long And Winding Road To Eviction

What a week in the Big Brother house! If you were just to look at Point A to Point B – from the beginning of this week to the end – you’ll find the outcome to be quite predictable. But man, that long and winding road that spans between this week’s start and finish proves that nothing comes easy on Big Brother, especially with only a few short week remaining in the game.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. Big Brother 21 Week 10 Recap: A Double-Eviction For The Ages

I’ve thought long and hard about this, but I firmly stand by it: There is simply nothing in Reality TV that is more breath-taking, more nerve-racking, than Double-Eviction night of Big Brother. It’s somewhat become “must see TV” for fans of the show, who might opt to DVR a normal episode of Big Brother under normal circumstances.

But as I do every Double-Eviction, I kept myself off of Twitter and social media even though I desperately wanted to know the outcome, as I watched it on like a 20-minute delay (it’s a MUST to be able to fast-forward through those commercials on such an important evening). Watching the show live and not knowing the outcome is an absolute thrill, and not at all common in today’s “binge” culture. But seriously is there anything cooler than Double-Eviction? And this one especially my friends, did not disappoint.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. Big Brother 21 Week 9 Recap: On A Zing And A Prayer

It was “Prank Week” in the Big Brother house, but the stakes this week couldn’t have been more serious. It was a pivotal week for the house guests, where front-runners finally emerged as the house got rid of one of the most dangerous (perceived) players of the season.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. Big Brother 21 Week 8 Recap: The Universe Has Spoken

Wait, did that just really happen or is this some sort of elaborate prank? Man, over the course of this season, the last 24 hours before the Live Show have been tumultuous, to say the least, but this week’s surprise last-minute vote-flip takes the cake. We all know the Big Brother saying that “pawns go home” but with the game’s biggest target on the block this past week, it was going to take a legit miracle for things to shift, but as we witnessed, the universe works in mysterious ways.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers above the warning label, but as I do at the beginning of every one of my Survivor recaps, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you are caught up on all of the aired episodes of Big Brother 21. Big Brother 21 Recap: Are You Bitches Conspiring Against Me?

What a topsy-turvy show this is! We all know that with Big Brother we can “expect the unexpected,” but these past three weeks have really been an emotional roller coaster. Since last we met two weeks ago (I was on a Disney vacation with my two-year-old, and I use the word “vacation” very lightly), the house has lost three contestants, with the jury pool now at two members. We’ve had backstabs, frontstabs, blindsides, a fan-driven road trip, the break-up of a major alliance, and the resurgence of a new alliance. There have been plenty of tears, lots of laughs, and even a choreographed dance (from Tommy) thrown in. OTEV has come and gone, and the power has shifted back-and-forth so frequently that you almost need to wear a giant red space helmet in order to make it through.

We’ll blow through the major events of the past couple weeks, and get all caught up following tonight’s Live Eviction Episode, but first: My important disclaimer as follows!

Big Brother 21 Week 4 Recap: The Proof Is In The Pudding…And On The Live Feeds

Another week in the Big Brother House, another racial slur out of the mouth of Jack Matthews. Yes, once again this week, the most controversial thing going on inside the game of Big Brother has not actually been touched on at all by the three weekly episodes airing on CBS. It’s as if CBS thinks it can somehow hide what happens in a game that is about people living in closed quarters and who are filmed 24/7. Well I have some news for you Big Brother and CBS: Just because you choose not to address Jack’s ongoing racism in the house doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. It’s been a major distraction for those aware that it’s been going on, and for those that don’t, it’s sort of pathetic that the show has decided to keep you in the dark the way it has, instead of – at the very least – trying to frame it as a learning moment in the game’s history.

Oh yeah, there was also a game being played this week, with one player nearly making a big move before deciding to chicken-out at the last minute. We’ll get to that too.
