Nobody expected Ed Brown and Rose Vega to go the distance. And with that incredulity, fans had a very entertaining Season 4 of 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days. Ed thought he could charm Rose with expensive vacations, while taking her away from her son Prince and generally belittling her life in the Philippines. He embarrassed Rose by making comments about her hygiene and physical appearance. But in the end, Rose turned down the expensive gifts in favor of her self-respect and truth. We all applauded her for it.
After having some time to reflect on his relationship with Rose, Ed is speaking out to give his side of the story.
The prevalence of social media use has also changed reality TV. Cast members can no longer hide any aspects of their past. Public perception can be swayed in an instant, despite how someone was portrayed on the show.
Not that fans of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days had favorable opinions about Ed Brown. At the very least, he was viewed as a bungling lover trying to woo a much younger girl. That was uncomfortable enough to watch. Add a layer of power dynamic in which Ed used fancy hotel rooms and luxury vacations to distract Rose Vega from some big lies that he told. He always made her prove her “love” to him at the expense of her dignity. If this behavior on camera wasn’t unsettling enough, Big Ed is now being confronted with a very real, and very serious accusation.
It’s been so cringeworthy watching Ed Brown and Rose Vega on 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days. Of course, there’s the obvious age difference. Then, there’s that major height different. And, let’s not forget Ed’s attempts to use money to establish superiority in their dynamic. He constantly bragged about the gifts he sent her and how much money he spent on shipping. Yet, somehow, those gifts never got to her mailbox. Suspicious. Something tells me he never sent her anything until that reality TV camera crew showed up.
Not only that, but Ed forced Rose into a foot massage and had the nerve to ask her to shave her legs. He also buys her mouth wash and claims that her breath smells. How could someone embarrass a person who they are supposedly “in love with” on a reality TV show? Poor Rose. Well, now, she’s clapping back and calling him out! We are all #TeamRose on this one, right?
