Ready or not, here they come! Another reality TV show similar to Bravo’s “Real Housewives” is the “Househusbands of Hollywood” on FOX reality channel premiering Aug. 15 at 9 p.m. The new show will feature five stay-at-home men who run the house while their wives head to work.
Househusbands of Hollywood will feature former L.A. Dodger Billy Ashley; aspiring actor Danny Barclay; “A Different World” star Darryl M. Bell, who’s married to “Cosby Show” actress Tempest Bledsoe; onetime “Gentleman Bandit” star Charlie Mattera, and Grant Reynolds, husband of “Good Day LA” anchor Jillian Reynolds.
Grants says, the main difference between the “Housewives” and the “Househusbands” is that the guys are actually all friends. In addition, instead of the usual drama the show will focus on raising a family.
According to the show’s producer, the purpose of the show isn’t to create disasters but to capture these men trying to prevent them.
Initially, both Tempest and Daryl were hesitant about being a part of the show but changed their minds once they realized the positive message the show was trying to convey to viewers. “It’s a good time to look at these men for who they really are,” she said. “For a man to stay at home and take care of his child, that is the most difficult job that there is, and I think it’s time to give them credit for doing that.
“Reality shows usually is a lot of fighting,” she added, “but it’s nice to see a show that’s lighthearted and good-spirited and you don’t have to sit down and cringe every time you look at the screen.”
After several years of reality show train wrecks, I am amazed that people are still willing to display their lives on national TV.

danny needs to grow some big ones he is the BIGGEST WUSS—-Grant is just pretty—-Tempest is the biggest BI i have ever seen and I crack up at Darryl he doesn’t take much from Tempest and what I have seen she needs someone like Darryl—Charlie and Billy are just funny guys—Charlie is differently a player. I love watching the show its so funny.
Jillian has a crappy attitude and needs to negotiate better the next time she’s on to Good Morning LA. CLOTHING ALLOWANCE in your next contract then you aren’t at Barneys three times a week…also you’re too old to act like the p!ssed off rebellious teenager. Grow up already. Grant you’re hot! Danny you’re unappealing. Get a job already, and grow a pair.

Jillian is a joke. She comes off like a baubble head. Then again, she was smart enough to get a man like Grant.
Tempest and Darryl are great. They prove love, respect and communication go a very long way.
Danny should’ve been the doctor he spent thousands studying for. What idgiot gives up doctor to be yet another untalented and unemployed actor? She’ll be better dealing him soon. Hope she’s a smarter lawyer than she is at being a wife.
Billy and wife are ok. She shouldn’t take so much advantage, he’s a great catch.
Charlie is a riot. Plain, truthful and smart.

Billy and lisa are a cute couple, i think billy is a sweetheart to help run Lisa’s company, as for danny, please stop looking for a man cave and get a job, Grant and Jillian are cool too, i just think Grant needs to get off her back about how much money she spents, after all she does work hard for her money, but don’t get me wrong, Grant does take care of the baby which is a big task, now charlie he justs lays low and enjoys life, but WHY don’t they ever show his wife, all u ever hear is her voice while he talks to her on the phone, now as for darryl and tempest i think he should let her decide which car she really wants, its easy to say buy the $90 thousand dollar car but he is not working so guess who gets stuck with the payments

I think Jill has met her match in Grant. he doesn’t take any BS from her.
I think the show is great. It shows that we are not all perfect but trying to work together from day to day. It shows marriage is hard and relationships. It shows that they are people like anyone else and doing their best with their lives. Jillian doesn’t appreciate Grant or doesn’t show it.
I like that it shows husbands do care and help. Even if they don’t work a 9-5 job they are working running the household and taking care of the kids. In the beginning of the show it tells you why Charlie’s wife can’t be shown. I like all of the wives. Jillian needs to work on compromising with Grant. She wants to have her way all of the time and it’s not cool to argue in front of guess when they had the dinner. If she keeps doing what she is doing now I can’t see them lasting…
I love this reality Show, different personalitys of couples is what makes this show. Billy/Lisa your like a cool Aunt and Uncle. Tempt/Darryl your like down to earth people, and Grant and Jillian, your the bomb! Jill you crack me up, not to mention Hot! Danny and Charlie, next new couple?? Where is Charlies wife????
Just watched part of an episode today. Pretty lame show. Danny Barclay is not fooling me, he is totally gay.

Charlie’s wife is a psychiatrist so they can’t show her face. Now, as for Jillian…… what a B!! She is so self absorbed it’s not even funny. I never see her spend any quality time with that baby. She’s all about herself. She got mad at Grant for not wanting to open the champagne 7 minutes before the guests arrived?? Why didn’t she use that time to play with her baby????? Grant is a good man and father. I’m thinking she doesn’t deserve him. But, who knows, we only see a small portion of their lives. Tempest and Darryl….? they don’t do anything for me. Lisa???? another B! GUess that’s why she and Jillian are best friends. Danny???? Get a job! He’s not looking for one and he’s not raising babies, so, GET A JOB!!! The rest of the cast…. their ok. Just my opinion.
The guys on this show are castrated and emasculated house boys. This show is like watching a train wreck implode in slow-mo. I can’t decide whether I think less of the WIVES that support these nebishes or the Peter Pan boys themselves. They are nothing but eunuchs living in harems; catering to the whims of these women who probably couldn’t find “real men” (i.e. those with careers), therefore, they “settled” for these loafers/losers. The worst of the lot is that Danny. I still can’t figure out whether it will be him or his wife who ultimately conceives their child and carries it to term. Surely, his wife’s been carrying his balls around with her in her purse for some time now and I can’t stand to even look at this guy; let alone listen to his weekly whining. Those fire-side chats that these idiots hold at the end of the day in their “man caves” is sickeningly full of scripted PMSing and emoting which isn’t the least bit plausible.
The only one with a slim chance at redemption is Grant. If he does grow a set of balls one day – it’s not going to bod very well for Jillian in the long run (read any page in the yet to be written tome by Tori Spellings – about how, ironically enough, it’s usually these house husbands who ultimately pick up their encampment and end up leaving their cash cow women – not vice versa).
I am so glad that this stupid and vacuous show is finally over with. Hopefully, not to be repeated in a future season. Ugh…. this is so painful to watch!
Jillian is a self centered, it’s all about me b. I don’t know what Grant sees in her. He will eventually get sick of her. I don’t know why they are having a second child when it’s him that will be left with the burden on him. All she cares about is spending money at Barney’s. She claims she’s different at home from her Good Day L.A. personality but she’s the same. Interupts everyone to talk about her. You know Dorothy Lucey will be so happy when Jillian is off of work to have her baby.

Laura, it was shown on the Reality TV channel — I can only get it with digital cable. But the show is over; it aired late last summer.
I liked the concept of this show but it was kind of boring in reality. Nice to see couples in love though.

I cant wait for the next season. I am currently in somewhat of the same situation as the guys. However, I was injured in Afghanistan in 2002, and have been unable to obtain employment even though I have a B.A. that was awarded in 2008.
