The Kardashians Facing Lawsuit Over Allegedly Ripping Off A High-End Makeup Line’s Name

The Kardashians' latest product venture has potentially landed them in hot water with a California business man.  Kim, Khloe and Kourtney are releasing a new makeup line, which they've dubbed "Khroma", because it's some sort of Kardashian law that every product name and any potential husband's first name MUST start with a K.  Okay, so that last one only applies to Kim, but still.

Anywho, the Kardashian sisters are launching their new makeup line, which will be on the lower end of the price scale in stores like CVS and Sears, but another makeup brand, Chroma, based in swanky Beverly Hills, is hopping mad over the name-jacking.

The co-owner of Chroma says he's worked his butt off for over a decade to build a high-end brand for his even higher-end clientele, and now the Kardash family just swooped in and rained on his parade with their cheap war paint that belongs in the bin at the dollar store.  He's afraid his clients will confuse the two and it may make his line look cheap, so he's hired a legal team to see what he can do to stop them.

The K sisters aren't shaking in their Kardashian Kollection boots because they applied to trademark the names "Kardashian Khroma" and "Khroma Beauty by Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe" earlier this past summer.  It hasn't been approved yet, but according to TMZ it wouldn't necessarily offer up protection because you don't need to have a trademark registered in order to pursue litigation.  We'll see what mama Kris Jenner has to say about this.

We may bust their balls a lot, but the Kardashian women certainly know what they're doing when it comes to expanding their businesses.
