The Real Housewives of New Jersey star was due to begin his trial this month, but in light of "extensive" new (and apparently damning) information uncovered by the prosecutor the date has just been pushed back to July 15th.
Joe's lawyer Miles Feinstein appeared before a judge yesterday to request an amended trial date, which was also supported by Prosecutor J. McCann.

"This additional discovery… it was extensive. A whole notebook full of information," the Prosecutor revealed. Joe previously rejected a final plea bargain offered by the state of four years in state prison.
Joe is accused of using his brother Pete Giudice's information to illegally obtain a driver's license after his was suspended for a DUI and other infractions. Joe was pulled over and caught using the fraudulent license. He claims his brother had no idea that he was using his identity.
“We are happy that a trial date has been set and we look forward to Joe being exonerated,” Mr. Feinstein told North Jersey.com after yesterday's hearing, which Joe attended with his mom. No clue where Teresa Giudice was but I guess they do have four daughters and she has a career…
Joe's lawyer maintains that Joe is being treated with biased harshness because of his "celebrity status". Ahem… we really throw that word celebrity around loosely, don't we? “The plea deal offered by the state is totally unacceptable and is contrary to other plea offers in other similar cases,” Mr. Feinstein insisted. “Joe should be treated like anyone else.”
Mr. Feinstein predicts the trial wil be "rather lengthy" and that jury selection will be difficult in light of the RHONJ complication. You know, that highly divisive show that leaves fans foaming at the mouth…
A video of the hearing is below! Just a warning – there are no sequins, no spray tans, and no over the top Jersey fabulousness.
