Big Brother 16 is right around the corner. I, for one, am super excited. It can't be worse than BB15, right? Right?!? OMG I hope I'm RIGHT! So, we've already met the Big Brother 16 Houseguests, and now it is time to see the house they'll live in. The theme of the Big Brother 16 house is an urban tree house.
CBS: "This season, the Big Brother houseguests will live in a whimsical urban tree house-themed dwelling. The living room features a 20-foot-high wood tree sculpture and wood panels that give the illusion of peering out into the world from inside the tree. The theme continues with the dining room’s branch-bound chairs and the kitchen’s butcher block island made from slabs of eucalyptus trees. Nestled above the living room is a tree house where the houseguests can play chess. The Head of Household suite includes a giant bird’s nest for the bed and a wall lined with bird houses. The bedroom decor is based on the classical elements earth, wind, and fire with the bathroom’s theme being water."
The photos reveal a new and improved memory wall. "Because we're in HD, we were able to change up the technology," explained CBS production designer Scott Storey. "We will be using them not only for the houseguests but we'll be putting in different games and moments from the show."

Scott: “A note from the network was that they wanted [the house] t feel urban, young, and playful and urban treehouse seemed like a perfect place to start.”

Scott: "I didn't want the full, traditional, residential-style kitchen, so we've taken the kitchen and deconstructed it."
Dining and Memory Wall
The new and improved Memory Wall consists of two 65-inch HD LCD screens with keyholes running down each side.

Scott: "In the bathroom, I wanted to give a sense that you're in water and it's bubbling around you."
Scott: "All of the bedrooms — in keeping with the nature theme — are either earth, wind, ice, or fire. Fire was tricky. How do I represent fire without putting pictures of flames on the walls?"
Answer: The paneling is charred wood.
