Bethenny Frankel Suing Attorney Over Apartment She Shared With Jason Hoppy!

You’d think Bethenny Frankel would be completely over dealing with attorneys, courts, and ex-husband Jason Hoppy after her extremely acrimonious 3-year divorce, but not so! Instead Bethenny just filed a $2 million dollar lawsuit against her former property attorney.

The Real Housewives Of New York star claims that Jason with the aid of an attorney screwed her in the purchasing of her $5 million dollar Tribeca condo, the ownership of which was at the center of their super messy divorce.

When Bethenny and Jason bought the apartment in 2011, (with the proceeds from the sale of Skinnygirl Liquor to Jim Beam), Jason, who at the time was working for Skinnygirl, suggested they put ownership of the property in a trust. Bethenny maintains she wanted the property to be solely in her name, but went along with the trust idea anyway.

Fast-forward to their 2013, after divorce papers were filed, per TMZBethenny was shocked to discover the trust gave Jason 50% interest in the apartment, plus the right to live there, without paying rent. Jason argued that his earnings also contributed to the purchase, giving them both the right to reside there rent-free.

Bethenny blames attorney Jamie Andrew Schreck for not clarifying the trust arrangement before filing the paperwork, thus making her divorce not only incredibly messy, but incredibly long! Her suit cites malpractice, fraud, notary misconduct and breach of fiduciary duties, claiming the attorney allowed Jason’s mother to notarize the property even though she wasn’t licensed to do so in New York state.
