Last night on 16 And Pregnant 18-year-old Aleah LeBeouf, a diabetic teen from St. Louis, MO, welcomed daughter Peyton. Because of her diabetes she has a high risk pregnancy and has to check her sugar multiple times a day. Doctors warn her that her daughter Peyton could be stillborn if she doesn't monitor her sugar closely. Aleah worries constantly that she won't be able to provide a good life for her daughter or that her medical issues could also make her daughter sick.
Aleah is dating Shawn, who is 19 and has a three-year-old son named Noah from another baby mama. Noah's biological mom is not in the picture so he lives full-time with Shawn and his family, and Aleah acts as a mother-figure to him.
Last week, we saw Married to Medicine tank without Real Housewives of Atlanta's strong lead-in. This week, the RHOAhusbands revealed special garnered 2.128 million viewers, which is 337,000 more than last week's secrets revealed special. Believe it or not, Married to Medicine saw the exact same increase – 337,000 – in viewers, with 1.563 million tuning in this week. Mariah Huq better hope Kandi's Wedding draws a big crowd!
On last night's episode of 16 And Pregnant seventeen-year-old former Mormon Karley Shipley welcomed TWIN girls.
Karley and baby-daddy-turned-husband Tony are polar opposites; they met when straight-A student Karley tutored tatted-up bad boy jerk (aka Adam Lind 2.0) Tony, who ended up dropping out of high school – but at least he got learning in the ways of love.
After finding out she was pregnant, Karley and Tony decided to get married and they moved in with her parents. She switched to homeschooling and abandoned her plans to pursue a scholarship to University of Utah while Tony works full-time at an autobody shop. Sounds sweet, right? Nope! Tony just can't get his priorities straight. It turns out the couple was fighting when Karley found out she was pregnant and Tony thought she was lying to trap him. And this sounds like the perfect time to get married, right? Stability 101! Tony is glad, however, because he thinks the situation has made him grow up. If last night was a grown up Tony, then that's astonishing.
I don't know where MTV is finding the girls on this season's 16 And Pregnant, because each one has a more messed up situation than the next! I can only hope this is proof that the show is definitely lowering the teen pregnancy rate and fewer girls are in fact getting pregnant.
Last night 17-year-old Summer Rewis and her boyfriend DJ gave birth to son Peyton as they dealt with Summer's moms drug addiction and Peyton's health problems. Summer and DJ are from Collins, GA and need subtitles. Often. Summer is super cute and despite her rough childhood seems level-headed and sweet. She and DJ have a pretty stable relationship and I like them.
While Summer's mom is a hot mess, DJ's parents are very supportive and let the couple live with them while Summer completes high school and DJ goes to school to become a welder. Summer also has 3 younger half-sisters whom she's close with. One happens to be called Pookie, which I'm just gonna hope is a nickname. Another says she has feet that smell like Fritos.
On Monday, a whopping 3.761 million viewers watched the season 3 premiere of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. Also, 1.386 million sat through Arianna's nagging on 16 and Pregnant, and RHOC took a turn for the worse with only 1.435 million tuning in to meet Lizzie.Southern Charmended its first season with a 952,600 average after 1.038 million watched the secrets revealed special.
Last night on 16 and Pregnant, we met Arianna and Maurice, who made a baby after dating for only six weeks. MTV tells us that Arianna is an artsy – cause half her hair is dyed green? – high school senior who can't forgive her boyfriend for impregnating her. Um, she was there too, right? Arianna reminds me of Princess Briana fromTeen Mom 3 – she constantly preaches about what others should be doing while she doesn't do much else besides preach.
Arianna's father took off shortly after she was born – I think she takes her own daddy anger out on Maurice – and her mom was a teen mom. Arianna doesn't like her mom's new husband, so she lives with her grandmother in tiny one-bedroom apartment. Despite everything, Arianna is on track to graduate high school early. She wanted to get her PhD in Psychology prior to becoming pregnant, but due to the time that takes, she now wants to be an RN. Good for her… admirable profession and light years beyond many of her MTV co-stars.
This week's reality TV viewer numbers are in – and an impressive 2.206 million watched the Basketball Wives L.A. reunion, bringing its season average to 2.055 million. Sadly, only 861,000 fans bothered with the Southern Charmreunion, but we hope the season finale's 1.21 million and the season average of 943,000 is enough to get it renewed.
