Last night onTeen Mom 2, some girls celebrated happily wedded bliss (again) and other girls headed towards happily unwedded unbliss (again) and some girls cried all the way home from jail (again).
Let's start and end with a positive! To start, Chelsea Houska finally accomplished something other than dumpingAdam Lind. Which speaking of positives: he was NOT presents on last night's episode. Go, MTV! Anyway, Chelsea graduated with her 600 hour aesthetics certificate and is on her way to getting her very first job. "I know I had Aubree young, but I've still accomplished what I wanted," Chelsea says. Good for her.
Jenelle Evans has found true love, y'all, and she'll confront anyone who wants to try to rain on her parade with new beau Nathan Griffith. As you know, the Teen Mom 2 star is pregnant with a boy, and Nathan is the father…but he's not to be confused with Courtland Rogers, her husband who just got out of (or sent back to? I can't keep up!) jail. Healthy, healthy, healthy!
Apparently, Jenelle's army of Twitter followers tend to rile her up from time to time, most recently alleging that Nathan has been less than faithful during the reality star's pregnancy. I'll never believe it. He's the world's best boyfriend and father! You know who agrees with me? Jenelle. You know who is hilariously bringing back Jenelle's attorney Dustin Sullivan courtesy of her Instagram? Rihanna. It may not make sense in the context of this post, but it's the funniest thing I've seen in a while.
Now Michael is fighting back and writing a tell-all book! “It’s about being a grandfather and a parent to Farrah and [her daughter] Sophia,” Celebuzz. “It will address things you didn’t see on TV and things nobody has ever heard of."
Michael wants this book to clear-up misconceptions about his image, such as what viewers saw as his dysfunctional family relationships or the rumor that he helped Farrah broker her sex tape deal with Vivid. “It’s about our struggles and our blessings. It will address some of our hardships, being on a reality TV show and the real hard facts from the last year," Michael explains.
So it appears that MTV is going to continue its grand plan to shed light on the epic social problem of teen pregnancies by continuing to glorify pregnant teens, giving them a hefty check, and making them pseudo-celebrities. It's been working thus far. I mean, just look at how mature Farrah Abraham is thanks to the network's influence! Of course, actual intelligent people who are touted with research on such subjects are out to prove me wrong.
According to MTV's Remote Control, economists from Wellesley College and the University of Maryland have determined that 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom have led to a reduction in teen pregnancy by 5.7 percent, or about 20,000 births every year since the first show premiered in 2009. If you want to get super technical, that's one less birth by a teen every half hour. I guess that would explain why the network has announced another season which will follow twelve new pregnant teens.
Congrats are in order! Teen Mom 2 starChelsea Houskabought a house! Chelsea, aka the Teen Mom with her head screwed on straight, shared the photo of her new house on Facebook this afternoon. Chelsea shared, "Officially a homeowner!"
Our writer Melissa noted "not surprised the house is burnt orange, her favorite color!"
Clearly Chelsea is making sure to secure her finances before those MTV checks dry up. She seems to be sensible with her money – she's even still driving the same car! Chelsea is also one of the few out of all the Teen Mom stars who works in the real world, outside of the show and focuses on being an awesome mom to her cutie patootie Aubree.
Last week, a "production source" claimed, "There is no season 6 of Teen Mom 2 – season 5 is the girls' last season. They want to end with high ratings."
Then a second source reported that the current season of Teen Mom 2 will be shown in two parts — 5A (currently airing) and 5B (currently filming) – and then it's lights out for Kail, Leah, Jenelle, and Chelsea.
