Hello out there? Are you watching reality shows or are you outside enjoying the beginning of summer? I like to think I've found the perfect balance of both, but it seems we all need to step up our game a bit and show some love to old faithfuls.
Unfortunately, Monday night's shows didn't fare well in the ratings race. Desiree Hartsock's quest for love began on the Bachelorette, but a lot less people tuned in to watch her pass out roses than in seasons past. Likewise, viewers for The Voice are on a steady decline.
Did y'all watch The Voice last night? I have to be honest, I have so much in my DVR on Mondays, that I'm going to have to save it for later in the week. That said, I can't wait to see what I anticipate being a much more fun and positive camaraderie among the judges. Don't get me wrong, I'll miss Cee Lo Green, but I think that Shakira and Usher will be great additions alongside Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. As for Xtina? No comment.
There is something about this competition that I truly adore. It's equal parts the design of listening without looking and the witty back and forth among the judges that makes it all the more entertaining. Add in incredible talent, and it's a hit. Of course, there is the always hilariously honest Blake to keep things in check, and he's dishing on the two newbies.
Christina, showing off her recent weight loss, walked the red carpet with Carson Daly, Blake Shelton and new coachUsher, as well as other celebrities and a few past season's contestants. Adam Levine and Shakira were absent from the festivities.
Season 4 kicks off on Monday, March 25th. Are you tuning in?
Serious question…did any of you watch the X Factor? I kept up with some of gossip, but I prefer The Voice. It seems that the talent show just can't seem to get it together as far as judges are concerned (see you later, Britney Spears!), and now there are rumors that one of the hosts is on the chopping block.
Since brief stint on the show, Khloe Kardashian has been criticized for being awkward and orchestrating nip slips. There was even a rumor that was being paid by The Voice to do such a horrible job. That's bad! Of course, I highly doubt that Khloe was getting cash for her craptastic hosting (it would almost be better if she were…), but the poor girl has no experience other than ridiculous reality shows. Now, sources are alleging that she may not be back next season.
Reza Farahan and his two favorite Persian Princesses, Asa Soltan Rahmati and Lilly Ghalichi, hit the red carpet with a slew of other reality TV stars on Monday. Yesterday was Day 2 of NBCUniversal's '2013 Winter TCA Tour', held at the Langham Hotel.
"This is The Voice!" I don't know what it is lately, but I can't help but get these awful theme songs stuck in my head. Don't get me wrong, I love the premise behind NBC's answer to American Idol (and watching Adam Levine and Blake Shelton isn't too shabby either!), but couldn't they have come up with a better hook? It is a music competition after all!
The show is gearing up yet again to premiere in March, and this time aroundCee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera are taking a break. Good riddance to Xtina and her witchy ways! Replacing the duo will be Usher and Shakira, and while I'll miss Cee Lo, I think these two will be a fun, easy mix with Adam and Blake.
In a recent interview, the four judges, old and new, discuss what we can expect from the upcoming season. Adam admits that he underestimated Shakira's spunk, and Usher, who is responsible for giving us The Biebs, reveals that finding new talent is more difficult than he expected. The blind auditions have all been taped, but the live portion of the show will resume taping in the spring.
"Seriously, Honey Boo Boo is the decay of Western civilization. Just because so many people watch the show doesn't mean it's good. So many people witness atrocities and can't take their eyes away from them, but that doesn't mean they're good. That show is literally The. Worst. Thing. That's. Ever. Happened."
"It's complete f–king ignorance and the most despicable way to treat your kids. F–k those people. You can put that in the magazine: F–k those idiots. They're just the worst. Sorry, I'm so sensitive to that — like, I don't know, man, it's upsetting. Just to clarify, I said, 'F–k those people!'"
