For your Friday dose of The Real Housewives of Orange County, we have three weddings and a divorce, and an on-and-off friendship that is apparently back on again. I’m sure I’ll be telling you differently on Monday!
And another Bravo Housewives marriage bites the dust. Lynne Curtin, the cuff selling, non-blinking, exercise fanatic from seasons four and five of RHOC, is planning to divorce her husband Frank. As you recall, the couple famously lived far above their means (which is apparently a qualification to be on the franchise), with Frank hiding the money woes from his wife and two daughters. The couple was even served with an eviction notice while being filmed for the show!
Yesterday Lynne announced, “After more than 20 years of marriage Frank and I have decided to go our separate way. I love Frank but it was time to go out on my own.”
“Who knows what the future holds, but I’m looking forward to doing the things that I want to do,” continues Lynne, adding that she has yet to file for divorce.
In a phone interview with the Orange County Register, Frank stated, “I’m not a willing participant in this. It hurts to even think about it or talk about it. Call me old-fashioned, but I take my vows very seriously.”
In the preview clip below, the ladies are asked to play truth of dare, during which Gretchenis dared to kiss Tamera, and they do. The picture of that is below as well, guess hell has frozen over.
So what can we expect from the two part reunion shows? It will update us on the pending divorce of Tamra and Simon Barney. Tamra will boldly address the situation with raw honesty and emotion. Lynne will answer questions regarding the challenges she has faced with her teenage daughters throughout the season. The men also make an appearance and Slade uses the opportunity to give Vicki a piece of his mind. The two go at it in a verbal battle that has been brewing for years.

So what can we expect tonight? Well, all of the housewives will get together for a little end of the summer party. We will also see Tamra Barneyand husband Simon Barney get into a rather big blowup, during which Tamra threatens divorce. As widely reported, the couple is now separated as Simon filed for divorce in December. Tamra is now dating Eddie Judge, a friend of Simon.
On the other side of town, Vicki appears to be in a much better place with her husband Donn. The gruesome twosome known as Lynne Curtin’s daughters show up drunk to the party, and Gretchen and Slade show up in coordinating outfits, cause their peers to speculate on whether or not they are getting married. A video preview is below.
Coming soon is also the two part reunion special set to air on Wednesday, March 10 and Thursday, March 11 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
The upcoming reunion will of-course feature new interviews with all the Housewives, but what is new this year will be the appearance of the significant others including Jim Bellino, Frank Curtin, Donn Gunvalson andSlade Smiley.
According to Gretchen, the men end up ganging up on Slade. Former housewife Jeana Keough will also appear on the reunion show.

TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE SEASON FINALE? SEASON IN GENERAL?
In what is a rather long interview, it’s pretty obvious Lynne continues to live on Lynne Planet. According to Lynne, she’s a tough disciplinarian for her daughters, Vicky was a doll to her when they first met (umm did she watch last season?) and though she had watched some of the previous seasons of the show, she didn’t recognize any of the housewives when she started filming.
Lynne does share some good news when she reveals her Cuff business has been booming. Judging from last night’s episode, one can only hope she’s saving up her money for rent and not spending it on $1000 jackets. She also discusses her husband Frank Curtinand the whole Gretchen intervention ordeal.
Hey, Lynne … what are you doing right now? Sounds like your driving…
I’m trying to get cuffs out. I have a lot of cuffs on my website that look kind of similar to the Saints symbol … the fleur de lis. I’m just on my way getting orders out right now cause the business is booming right now, especially with the Saints winning [the Super Bowl]. I just happen to have a flor de lis on my cuffs anyway, and a lot of people from Louisiana recognized the symbol and, coincidentally, with the team winning I have a lot of people ordering them right now.
Well, let’s rewind and talk about how you got yourself on the show.
I had one girlfriend who was doing my skin care; she knew somebody that worked for a store that was doing the wardrobe, and also, my other girlfriend had a daughter [Kendra Mayo from Laguna Beach] on an MTV show.
Wait. Did you watch the previous seasons?
Um, yeah. I did a bit, actually. Lauri [Waring] happened to be a really good friend of one of my really good friends. And I knew Lauri was having a good time on the show. That was part of the reason … I thought, “If Lauri is doing the show, I want to interview for it. That would be fun.” I didn’t know I was going to be replacing her at the time.
So before you joined the cast, was there someone you expected to click with, or someone you knew you’d have to watch out for?
Not in particular. Not until I got on the show and someone said we would be going out to dinner with everybody. … I had a heads-up about Vicki [Gunvalson]. I didn’t know all the characters by face that well, so I wasn’t sure who she was. I whispered over to Gretchen [Rossi], “Which one’s Vicki?” ‘Cause I’d only really remember a few of the episodes … like the one with Lauri and the trailer. Being a mom keeps you pretty busy. You can’t really follow every show. I was a little nervous the first time I saw Vicki ’cause I was like, “uh-oh. She’s going to be tough on me.” But she turned out to be a doll. This season, she’s been one of my closest friends on the show.
Is that how it really is? It’s seems like you guys don’t really hang out on a regular basis. When all of you are in a room, it’s usually a setup like the sleepover and cooking party …
Actually, we do see each other. I was invited to an event for Vicki. Or I get invited to an event for Tamra [Barney]. Like Tamra and I just talked. We’re going to take a spin class tomorrow. I saw Jeana [Keough] the other day at my gym.
I’m curious to know what it’s like being part of a reality show … do you watch each week? And what’s that like reliving some of those events?
I do watch. I’m like underneath the covers. I’m like, “Oh, my gosh, did I do that?” or “Did I say that?” Sometime I wish I would have thought before I said something. But I just try to let it all go. I’m just as real as I could possibly be. It’s all real. I’m a little ditzy, I admit it.
A lot of the readers of this blog have commented about the lack of boundaries you and your husband have in place. How do you respond to the criticisms you receive on how you discipline your daughters?
They don’t see everything. They see a little bit here, a little bit there; they don’t see what really goes down: the arguing, Frank getting upset, us taking away Raquel’s vehicle. You just see a little bit. You don’t see everything that transpires. I am tough. I’m strict. Alexa is home right now. She’s not grounded but, you know, she just got her license and she wants a car. Does she have a car? No. Raquel doesn’t have a car either right now. Neither one of my daughter’s have cars. I am tough.
And what about the whole Gretchen situation?
Oh, gosh. I just say let the parenting duties stick with the parents. That’s all I have to say. I don’t wish her any ill when she has kids. I was just saying, ‘You know what, Gretchen? Wait ’til you have kids, then come talk to me.” I wasn’t saying it to be mean or anything, I just wanted her to know that no one knows your kids like you do. I’m with them 24/7. And somebody who just spends maybe 25 minutes with them here or there is not going to be able to know my daughter and then tell me what to do about my daughter.
The couple has dealt with several financial hardships in the past year, which included some very public evictions, and a million dollar lawsuit judgement against the couple.
The OC Register reports the couple was recently in court so that a real estate investor who won a $1.26 million judgment against them could check out their assets. “Everyone thinks because of the show we’re gazillionaires,” Lynne said after coming out of the court.
“When the economy turned we lost all of our money in real estate investments. We’ve been trying to get back on our feet ever since then,” added Frank Curtin.
Lynne and Frank appeared in court on Wednesday under the threat of arrest. As we previously reported, a Superior Court Judge issued a bench arrest warrant for the couple when they failed to attend a hearing in the case last month. The bench warrant was however set aside as the Judge gave them a chance to show up yesterday.
The $1.26 mil judgment was for a real estate investor who said he wasn’t paid after lending the Curtins money for projects that didn’t pan out.
Franklin Casco Jr., the attorney for the Curtins said they would try to resolve the case “informally,” but maintained filing for bankruptcy is an option they are considering.
According to the OC Register, the housewife and her husband Frank Curtin have paid the overdue rent on their Aliso Viejo, CA home, thus avoiding another eviction on their $2595 a month rental home (the same one they can be seen living in on the show).
“They paid last month and they staved off the wolf,” said Steven Silverstein, attorney for the homeowner. “My client got her money so we stopped the eviction.”
According to Radar, Lynne and her husband Frank Curtin have received an eviction notice for the home they are currently living in, making this their 3rd eviction in a span of 9 months!
Interestingly enough, the Curtins are apparently still living in the same house they were evicted from last year. Other media outlets reported them as moving out of that home; evidently they snuck back in when no one was looking. This 3rd eviction is in addition to a $1.2 million dollar judgment against them, and court records show that since 2000, Lynne and Frank, have had 5 unlawful detainers filed against them.
An insider from the Housewives franchise told Radaronline, “We are all perplexed at what Lynne does with her money, she’s making $90K this year for appearing on the show, making more than enough to afford her monthly rent. I guess they are professional squatters!”
Frank has also acknowledged experiencing some financial hardship with his construction business, “My business all went south and I have been trying to work my way out of it. In the last 4 years I have lost everything, and I went through some really hard times.” He continues, “This has been the worst year of my life.”
Let’s hope 2010 will be a better year for the Curtins.
Frank Curtin, husband of Lynne Curtin of the Real Housewives of Orange County, has a perfectly good reason for skipping out on his mandatory court date in an Orange County courthouse Tuesday for a $1.2 million judgment they were ordered to pay to a former business partner.. He sort of forgot.
In a new interview with RadarOnline, Frank attempts to explain what happened. “I just sort of forgot to go because of the Christmas season,”said Frank who is planning to set a new appointment on Wednesday.
And though a bench warrant (a form of arrest warrant) was issued for the couple on Tuesday, don’t expect to see them in handcuffs anytime soon. “A bench warrant was issued on December 21st,” a court source tells Radar. “But it’s on hold until January 27th. As long as they show up at court by that date there will be no live warrant for them. If they don’t show by then then the warrant will be active and they will be arrested.”
Frank does acknowledge that this has been a very tough year for him, “My business all went south and I have been trying to work my way out of it. In the last 4 years I have lost everything, and I went through some really hard times.” He continues, “This has been the worst year of my life.”
Frank goes on to defend Lynne, saying the lawsuit had nothing to do with her, and she should have never been named in the lawsuit. “I don’t want her to get hurt,” Frank said about Lynne, “I feel bad for her.”
