I cannot be the only one who is bothered by the fact that “gay rumors” about Kandi Burruss are being treated as a “scandalous” story line on Real Housewives of Atlanta. Why is the possibility that someone is gay or that she has experimented with her sexuality something that has to be scandalized? Porsha Williams took the heat for Phaedra Parks who first said that Kandi has a sexual history with Porsha’s BFF Shamea Morton and it just turned into a super ugly exchange when they met up to discuss it all.
I would understand why any married person would be offended by rumors that she had an affair, but I don’t get why there’s some sort of added sting to that because Shamea is a woman. I’m over these reality stars justifying themselves by saying “funny” things about how they are “strictly dickly” and whatever other puns to refute the rumors. Just say they’re not true if they are not true. There’s no need to scandalize someone’s possible exploration of their sexuality. And to make matters even worse, Porsha and Kandi’s attempt to talk out the misunderstanding turned into a lot of yelling and accusations. Not only is it a total mess between friends, but it’s really brought on a bigger issue in the eyes of many viewers who are offended by the complete lack of sensitivity when it comes to conveying and marketing this story line.
Unlike when Phaedra was dead silent while Marlo Hampton brought the undercover lesbian accusations to light during the glamping trip, Phaedra is actually talking when it comes to her divorce and the Porsha vs. Kandi feud.
This Real Housewives of Atlanta season has been heavily focused on Kandi Burruss. For years she was just there to promote her products and interject here and there when other people got into it, but this season is very Kandi-centered thanks to Phaedra Parks and Porsha Williams starting rumors that she is a closeted lesbian who hooked up with Shamea Morton. Kandi confronted Porsha about her pot stirring during the last episode.
It wasn’t all drama for Kandi though. At the very least, she seemed to be beaming with pride when her daughter Riley Burruss followed in her musical footsteps and recorded a track of her own. Needless to say, Kandi has a lot to say about the last episode.
While Porsha really went in with the rumor spreading and instigating, Kenya was calm, cool, collected and gifted Cynthia Bailey with a vaginal rejuvenation. I don’t know whyKenya felt like Cynthia needed to get that procedure done since the past few seasons have had several story lines about the lack of sexual activity with her and her ex Peter Thomas. It didn’t seem necessary, but I guess it’s the thought that counts.
Happy pre-Friday! Last night brought out a slew of familiar Real Housewives of Beverly Hills faces to Venice Beach. In the photo above, Lisa Rinna and her daughters, Delilah Belle Hamlin and Amelia Grey Hamlin attended the TommyLand Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2017 Fashion Show, which celebrated Gigi Hadid‘s new capsule collection.
Also spotted there to support Gigi was her mom, Yolanda Hadid(who was spotted posing with Lady Gaga), former stepfather David Foster, dad Mohamed Hadid and his fiance Shiva Safai and of course, sister Bella Hadid, who also walked in the show.
This Real Housewives of Atlanta has to be the toughest one yet for Kandi Burruss. She is really in the thick of it going against the self-proclaimed “Frick and Frack” duo Phaedra Parks and Porsha Williams. Not only are these two arguing with Kandi whenever possible, but they’re really pushing the Kandi and Shamea Morton lesbian affair rumors. As scandalous as that all is, the saddest part of this season is seeing how far Kandi and Phaedra have come from their former best friendship. Kandi even thinks their relationship is worse thanks to the show.
I feel like Kandi is going to have a lot to address whenever they film the RHOAreunion this year. She is somehow involved in just about every story line this year minus the beyond annoying battle between Chateau Sheree and Moore Manor. So of course, Kandi has a lot to say about the drama so far this season.
