Months after it was first reported that Jersey Shore star Paul DelVecchio aka DJ Pauly D was getting his own spin-off show, MTV is now confirming the news.
Variety reports that the pilot for Pauly’s show has been shot by the same production company responsible for Jersey Shore.
“At the heart of ‘Jersey Shore’ is the unique and genuine cast, and Pauly D truly embodies both qualities,” MTV exec veep of programming and production head Chris Linn said. “We know viewers are curious about his life away from the shore, and we look forward to exploring new possibilities around that.”
The show will reportedly follow Pauly D as his star rises on the DJ circuit, and he releases his first single with Universal Republic Records from the Jersey Shore soundtrack.
RadarOnline adds that the show is tentatively titled Pauly’s World, and will feature Pauly’s life on the road with some of his closest buddies. “The boys that Pauly hangs with are ‘Big Mike’ his road manager, Jerry his bodyguard, and Ryan – a buddy he grew up with, who has a really good business sense,” a source close to the show told Radar.
Snooki is also reportedly working on her own spin-off show.
