When I think of wigs, I automatically think of Don’t Be Tardy’s Kim Zolciak- Biermann, whose love of faux hair knows no bounds. While wigs are staple (and statement) pieces for all of the ladies on Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kim has been leading the charge since the first season. Of course, her reasons for needing a wig have changed drastically over the years, ranging from serious illness (nope) to a desire to mix up her look a bit (much more accurate). Additionally, when I think of Bravolebrities who are constantly making perplexing and contradictory statements, my brain goes directly to Kim as well (see previous statement).
While we’re on the topic of hair pieces and confusion, Kim has just announced her very own line of wigs. Wait, am I having déjà vu? I could have sworn she already had her own line of wigs. If I’m not mistaken, the development of said line was featured on her show. Right?!? Oh well…who can keep up with Kim?
Taking to her Instagram, Kim posted the above picture while answering pressing fan questions about her natural hair color and promote her upcoming wig line. And I continue to be confused…by all of it. But alas.
The caption for Kim’s photo reads, “I get asked this a lot! YES I color my real hair! This is all my own hair and I’m about 75% gray so @hairby_chrissy has to color my hair EVERY month! Or at least my roots!! If I’m not filming (and even then I don’t) I don’t wear a wig I run around with my own hair! Wigs are just easier and I love the versatility! MY OWN WIG LINE IS COMING VERY SOON! Stay tuned…i can’t wait! (Just took this pic I got my hair colored yesterday)”
So many questions. First, Kim’s real hair looks like every wig I’ve ever seen her wear on the show. I always just assume she is wearing a wig, but now how will I know the difference? She says she only wears her wigs when filming, but quickly asserts that sometimes she doesn’t. Which is it? How can I tell? If I was getting my hair colored/roots done/grays covered once a month (which, honestly, I should probably be doing) and I had all of those wonderful wigs at my disposal, I’d save money on the stylist and rock a wig. Also, is this a new wig line or has it just taken years for it to come to fruition? Is she promoting the wig line or her hairstylist? Both? Am I wrong to be frazzled by Kim’s ramblings on Instagram or is it only natural (there’s a hair joke in there somewhere)?
TELL US – CAN YOU TELL WHEN KIM ISN’T WEARING A WIG ON THE SHOW? DID I DREAM THAT SHE ALREADY HAD A WIG LINE?
