To say I have mixed feelings about the Southern Charm finale is a major understatement. Don’t get me wrong, I have been looking forward to the Kathryn Dennis vs. Ashley Jacobs showdown all season, but at the same time I just don’t want Season 5 to end. Thankfully there are still reunion episodes to watch.
Tonight’s finale is bound to be epic. There’s just something so entertaining about the cast arguing in evening gowns. Oh and the previews tease rumors that Ashley may be a hooker- which is bound to cause a lot of controversy at Patricia Altschul’s party.
An episode description on the Bravo website begins, “After 5 years of constant tension, Patricia finally extends an olive branch and invites Kathryn to her Winter Ball.” I have been living for the Twitter alliance between these two and their #HiAshley tweets. I wonder if this Winter Ball is where their friendship started or if they started to get along after Season 5 filming finished up.
And of course there’s some Craig Conover and Naomie Olindo drama when he brings a date to the event- even though they hadn’t been dating for a few months and she was adamant about not getting back together.
Believe it or not, it isn’t Kathryn or Patricia that brings up that Ashley rumor. According to Bravo, “Austen [Kroll] tries to warn Thomas [Ravenel] that there’s a nasty rumor circulating about Ashley.” And by a “nasty rumor,” this is obviously about the escort gossip.
The episode description says that Austen is “the one that gets burned by Ashley,” but that seems doubtful given the long-awaited Ashley vs. Kathryn argument.
