Ashley Jacobs Announces She Won’t Return To Southern Charm; Cites “Unfair Editing”

Thomas Ravenel‘s girlfriend Ashley Jacobs shared with her Instagram followers tonight that she will not be returning to Southern Charm next season. She also candidly answered some questions about her decision.

Ashley shared, “After a lot of prayerful consideration, I have decided not to return to Southern Charm next season. I’ve been blessed with an amazing career, family, & friends and I don’t want to put those things in jeopardy for a reality tv show. Honestly I considered filming again because I desperately want to tell my side of the story. But after experiencing how unfair the editing process can be, I don’t think I’ll ever have a fair shot. I appreciate you all following me throughout this journey.”

When fans were skeptical about the situation, they started asking questions and Ashley jumped in the comments and gave a lot of candid responses. When some expressed disbelief that the show even wanted her back, she shared “I have screenshots of the Bravo executives calling me to discuss. Why would I lie about something so frivolous?”

She also said the decision had nothing to do with Thomas, it was mostly all about the stress. “Thomas said he’d support any decision I made. The stress of the show took a toll on me. I just want to focus on my career. I love being a nurse and I don’t want to subject myself to so much hate.”

When they called her out regarding “editing” she claimed, “actually I spoke to a few people on reality shows and they all say the same thing. Some people get a good edit though so they have a positive experience. My character was definitely the villain so I think I’ll always be pigeonholed in that category as long as I’m associated with Bravo.”

She even thought that villain label would help her and Kathryn Dennis bond a bit. “the interesting thing is she was painted as the villain for several seasons. I know she understands what I am going through. I wish we could have used the common ground as a foundation for a positive relationship.”

Ashley says the producers did have others lined up and willing to film scenes with her – for all the wrong reasons. “They wanted me back and wanted me to film with another female that also had issues with Kathryn. Seemed like a setup to me.”
