Joe Giudice is not the first Real Housewives husband to serve time. That honor belongs to Apollo Nida, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Phaedra Parks. Apollo is currently serving an 8-year prison sentence for identity theft and bank fraud. He and Phaedra share two young sons.
Apollo managed to get engaged in prison to Sherien Almufti. Since then Sherien has become Apollo’s very public mouthpiece. She claimed Phaedra won’t let the boys visit Apollo in prison. Sherien even appeared at the opening of the OLG Restaurant. Then Sherien revealed that she’d be making an appearance on season 10 of Say Yes To The Dress Atlanta. We hoped Sherien had a good storage bag for that wedding gown because Apollo was only 3.5 years into his sentence at the time.
Maybe Sherien knew something we didn’t. An article in Us Weekly is reporting that Apollo got his prison sentence cut down by a full year. That means Apollo will be released in August 2020. When Apollo was sentenced in 2014, he predicted his marriage to Phaedra wouldn’t survive. “I doubt it,” he said on Atlanta’s B100 radio station. “I mean, my wife didn’t even f—king show for my sentencing. I’m still salty about that.”
Phaedra filed for divorce in October 2014, putting an end to their five-year marriage. The split wasn’t finalized until July 2017. Since then Phaedra has moved on with a new man Tone Kapone. “Yes, me and Phaedra are dating. That’s the big moment everybody was waiting for,” Tone, a radio DJ, told listeners in January, confirming the romance. “Yeah, it was kinda self-explanatory on her page. I just didn’t wanna repost it ’cause it seemed like it would have been, like, super weird. Like, ‘Look at me.’ If you know anybody that knows me, I’m not that kinda guy.”

In an earlier article, Phaedra told Us Weekly she and Tone were taking things slow. “I’m not rushing into [marriage], you know, but I’m very fond of him and we adore each other,” Phaedra said. “[He’s] a great guy. He’s very supportive. He’s everything I’ve prayed for and more.”
Phaedra was fired from the show after spreading vile lies about Kandi Burruss. Namely that Kandi wanted to drug and rape Porsha Williams. Now that Kandi has taken those lemons and made lemonade in the form of a paying sex dungeon, I’m praying Phaedra’s exile from the show will be commuted to time served and she’ll regain her peach.
