Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4 Casting Bombshell

Last week, the Season 4 trailer for Below Deck Mediterranean was released. It looks like Bravo is again throwing in a casting curve-ball. And while it may be unexpected, it’s certainly the logical next step for mixing up the typical gender roles onboard.

First, it was the surprise of a female deck hand. Then Captain Sandy Yawn took the helm in Season 2 of the Mediterranean spinoff. Josiah Carter killed it as the very qualified and fabulous Second Stew last season on the original series, Below Deck. He was the first male to serve with the interior crew.

Now, the Sirocco is sailing into the proverbial unknown by casting the first female chef of the franchise. Mila Kolomeitseva will be running the galley and depending on whom you ask, she is either perfect for the job or completely underqualified. The new trailer shows Captain Sandy singing her praises as “Cordon-bleu trained out of Paris.” Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier seems underwhelmed at best with Mila. The two appear in a moment of conflict in the galley, which looks quite cluttered and dirty by the way. Whatever started that confrontation, it ended with Hannah proclaiming, “your food is shit.”

Fans will have to watch through the season to see if Mila has the skills to stay. But food is not the only issue Mila brings onboard. It seems she will create a lot of hostility with at least one other crewmate by saying “I don’t want my son to see two men kissing.”

Mila is replacing fan favorite Chef Adam Glick. He gave up the high seas for the open road and share his travels across the USA on Instagram. There’s one person Hannah did get along with. The vibe was too calm in the galley methinks. At least for reality TV standards.
