On April 8, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin revealed that she had tested positive for coronavirus. Jennifer shared that her plastic surgeon husband, Dr. Bill Aydin, administered the coronavirus test.
There was some backlash about why Bill, as a plastic surgeon, had access to tests when so many other people don’t. Jennifer really is a drama magnet!
Now Jennifer is paying it forward by donating over 5,000 masks to hospitals in New York and New Jersey. The RHONJ star told Page Six, “When I had the coronavirus, I noticed that my masks were really flimsy at the time. Everyone was asking how I had contracted it or whatever and I was like, ‘I was just at the grocery store. That’s the only place that I went to.’”
Jennifer asked Bill if he could get her a N95 mask, but he explained that there was no availability. Jennifer commented, “I figured if me, as a doctor’s wife, was having difficulty getting these masks, what about the average Joe?”
Jennifer purchased 10,000 masks from the manufacturer that produces her Ultimate Beauty Pillow. When the masks arrived, Jennifer got in touch with the Governor’s office to find out which facilities had the most need. Jennifer sent 3,000 masks to the Bergen New Bridge Center, which is located in Paramus.
She also reached out to family members, her friends, and co-stars to see if any of them needed masks. A producer on the show suggested Jennifer contact Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Jennifer sent 2,000 masks to that hospital.
Jennifer is keeping some masks for her husband’s patients at the Aydin Center For Plastic Surgery. But, she is also trying to fulfill requests from strangers.
“I’ve also donated a thousand masks to just miscellaneous people who have DM’d me and asked me and been begging me. So every time I get a new request that I happen to see, if I’m able to, I just put some masks in an envelope and I go to the post office or have my assistant go by the post office and just ship them out,” Jennifer stated.
